Ladies and gents, "preventive detention" is what they did behind the Iron Curtain.
It was called "for your own security" and "in order to make sure you don't hurt youself, we'll put you in a straitjacket and dripfeed you PROZAC until you're smarter than a cauliflower".

Seriously... anytime you guys think "Oh, this is too much!" Just look at European history.
I'm not boasting, quite the opposite, I'm cringing.

FEMA Camps? All European nations have them, they're TENTS by the hundreds neatly stashed away and ready for deployment any time we have an earthquake or a flood.
FEMA trains? No, we have state train companies, we just pick up the phone and commandeer them, it's in the law.

Pesi Rachel Maddow is as left wing as they come. She has a one hr show on MSNBC, the major left wing channel over here. I don't know if you can watch it over there. I've watched her a lot because I watch both sides. Neither one is right or wrong. She backs abortion, gays,  atheist, hates guns etc. Hillary and Pelosi are the only ones I know that could compete with her. That's the first time I've ever heard her say anything bad about our dictator. But that's not the point of the post! Its what Obama said. People have called me a conspiracy theorist long enough. Its all beginning to fall in place. They can lock me up for what I've said on this forum. What happened to our first amendment?

I think you're taking me too literally, Midnight.

I'm saying the government has created blanket terms to define who is and is not a terrorist.

Take for example the ag gag I posted about previously:
Terrorists forfeit their rights.
Suspension of Habeas Corupus etc.
But how do you define a terrorist?
A terrorist is someone you point at and say "s/he's a terrorist".
With such loosey goosey definitions you could suspend anyone's rights and indefinitely detain them, nearly at will with no repercussions because there is no trial.

Now, the ag gag. A cease of agricultural discussions.
An individual who photographs the inhumane treatment of animals is now labeled as an "ecological terrorist". There's the magic word.
So the peace, love, tranquility beatnik hippie who was merely photographing an animal mill is now subject to indefinite detainment, suspension of rights, etc.
