We are about half way down the slippery slope and gaining speed, liberals have seized power over the federal government they themselves called a constitutional crisis and unamerican. Now that they are in power and that power is slipping they have decided to go the way of the dictator.
The nuclear option has been triggered and the representative government we have grown up under is no more. Soon, judges will be appointed that will rubber stamp our decline into tyranny. I never excpected this to happen here and defiinitely not in my lifetime.

Indeed. Tis a very sad sight.
Even "older" democrats were not sure they were going to support this. Well the deed is done. If this can be done.. then what cannot? The US senate no longer functions as it has in my lifetime. What expectation should I have for any other elected body?

Obamacare was the prime example of why these things need to be debated ad nauseum. That is the pointof debate, to try to see all the angles but now political expedience rules the day and lives can be repared after the legistlation is passed, the consequences dealt with and mass sums of potential future minority wealth evaporate into the ether.

I've never seen Obama salute the flag or put his hand over his heart during a flag raising ceremony. To me that means he's not an American!

There's a photoshop'd pic floating about with his left hand over his heart.
Actually, it was his right but they flipped the pic to show otherwise.
So there's one pic.

I know he did when he was sworn into office but I havent seen him do it sense. I saw him at a sporting event while the Star Spangled Banner was being sung and the flag was being raised and thousands of Americans all had their hands over their heart but him.

I for one don't do the hand over the heart thing either when the national anthem is played. I prefer to properly stand at attention.

I knew a lot of WW II veterans who did that, and, of course, most of them have passed on now. I think it shows more respect, and brings back some memories.

If the veterans do it I can go along with it but our fearless leader is anything but a veteran.

Standing at attention, by a veteran, is how he/she stood when the anthem was played while he/she was in the service. I agree, Obama, having never actually served, may not qualify.
BUT, an argument can be made that since he is the Commander in Chief, he is "in" the military by the wording of the Constitution.

Jerry I'll admit you probably know a lot more about the Constitution than I do but I'm fully aware of whats been taken away from the Constitution since he took office.

Fortunately, the document that is the Constitution hasn't changed, but he is simply ignoring parts of it.
But, you have to know that I am in favor of the Patriot Act. There are times when certain things have to be done in the interests of serious threats to the national security. Are you aware that during the Civil War, Lincoln suspended the writ of habeas corpus?
