I can't decide on color scheme for this bike....I change my mind every other day.  So I ask you, fellow Savage enthusiasts... What color frame? what color tank? Please chime in with all ideas, pics are good too.   Thanks!

I would go with a 60's theme due to the style of the build, like flakes, scallops, chrome and all the nine yards... for the colors the more brilliant the better...
But naturally that's just me...
hope to have been helpful

Thanks Strang!  I like the steam punk idea.  I think I might look into that a little more.....
What say the rest of you?? What color to paint the tank? The frame?

Just type steam punk motorcycle in google or yahoo search bar and look at the photo's, some are totally wild, while others are kinda mild..

The metal and welding on the tank is so nice....it would be a shame to cover it with paint.

You could polish or brush the steel tank, maybe apply some gold leaf or some striping or color panels with a candy color....then just clear the whole tank.  The frame could be brushed steel with a clear coat, or a candy tint as well.....or a darker metal looking color without any flake.  There are some nice semi-flat colors that look like cast iron or steel.

If you decide to clear the bare metal I would look into clear powder coating. Im pretty sure clearing bare metal will make the clear turn yellow and or flake off.

Although i have heard of certain products that you prep the metal with to prevent all that but just do your homework so you dont end up with a headache.

Thanks for the input fellas.  I talked with an airbrush artist yesterday and we got some cool ideas floating around. Dave, I am taking your advice and keeping the welds bare and raw.  There will be some bare metal showing and graffiti type street art going on all with a clear coat of course.   Here is a quick scketch that I came up with, and trust me I aint no artist.  I named the bike El Gordo...go ahead.....google it.   Who knows what the final product will look like, but one thing is for sure. I love posting pics of this build and you guys will see it, that's a promise!

Made a bracket for the exhaust today....now it's  starting to look like a motorcycle!!  I think I might have to lower the front...something looks odd in this pic.

these pics came out so small...I don't know why...
