Best regards,
Piston: yes
Rings: no
When Lancer did my valves at 155,000, I pulled off the cylinder. Took that and the piston to a machine shop to have them checked. Both were still within tolerances. They just honed the cylinder. New rings (stock size) were put on.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut between the seat and the handlebars. Make sure yours isn't too tight or too loose.

The cam bearing surfaces on the head were remarkably like new. Only the valves and seals needed replacement; the valves had tiny hairline cracks on the outer edges of the valves. Also did a valve job done on it, otherwise no issues.

Best regards,
I am nudging closer to the magic number needed to post an official mileage entry.
At 199,300 something now.
Maybe I should hold off when I get real close to see if the "boys in the band" (Hill Country Savage run) want to have a celebration ride if they come down this year.
I can always ride Mad Hamish until then.

I'll be the first one to buy you a drink at your choice of establishments if you do hold off till we get there ... !
If all the past riders show up ... we'll have to pull your keys before the day is over !
and maybe a few more ?

Yep, you are correct. That bit of info did not emerge from my mind until a while later.

Na , He called us " Hill Country Savage runner "
...................................
So , does Thumper leak a little oil down the valve guides now ?

No. Lancer replaced the guides (or had them replaced).
Leaked a LOT before I sent it off to him!

88+(65+43) =
88 +
108
= 196k
Me thinks that sums up to 196k.. Nudging the 200k total miles!
