Front wheel noise

Hello all,
I am new to motorcycles started riding last year did about 14oo miles on my 2006 S40 so it now has about 4500 miles on it I get an occosional front wheel noise like a squeek its not affected by the brake it does chenge with speed then it goes away. I have gotten it twice once last year once the first time i took the bike out this year . Am i being paranoid or what should i be looking for

Usually the disc and pads make a squeaky sound, on mine the squeak changes or quits when applying brake

Parts 6 and 8 on the diagram ( the parts list calls them bolts) are the guide pins for the brake caliper. The caliper has to be able to slide back and forth on them when the brake is applied and released in order for the pads to release completely from the rotor. Grab the caliper and see if you can move it back and forth a little bit. It won't move much, but you should be able to feel it slide. If the pads are dragging every once in a while it can cause a squeal.

It never pays to have something looked at... It costs...

If you can raise the front wheel off the ground, (TIP... get a cement block, place on the right side, near the muffler shield, pull the bike from the left side, onto the sidestand and rear wheel... the front wheel will come up off the ground... then, slide the block under the engine frame to prop it)...
Now, you can spin the front wheel and listen... if the wheel can do more than 1 full rotation spinning free... it's okay...
Some disc drag is normal, so a slight scuffing noise is normal...

Best to learn to service this bike yer'self... no need to pay high-tech service rates for model-T technology...
Easy peasy service on this baby...
