I have a 2006 boulevard and i think they are a 4" rise and then come back. Does anyone know of a cheap set of risers? i know there are homemade ones i just dont trust myself

You can also cut some of the length off....provided there is enough threads to still be strong. You might need to extend the hole and threads a bit. It is doable if you have a drill press, and a tap.

to reiterate what others said, spin your risers. I did this til I got some different bars and the difference was incredible. you will have to take the handelbars and clamps off. then loosen the risers and spin them so that the bend is forward instead of back. then reassemble. this puts the bars forward and up just barely.

other than making or buying some new risers, you could buy a set of cheap handlebars, then just ditch the stock risers. my current setup is the stock clamps without the risers and some new bars. can't use the stock dragbars without risers unless you want dents in your tank and smashed fingers, though.

i just noticed you were from Arkansas. where abouts? I'm in Batesville.

I mentioned this somewhere else too...but I got some 1/2" sockets that i had laying around in the garage for risers....and used the stock clamps (got new bolts)...and the stock drag bars.

To avoid the dents in the tank, I got some of those picture frame bumpers and stuck them to the places on the handlebar controls that would hit the frame...been running it this way for a year now and still have a perfect tank.

Rides way better, and more comfortable for me...and cost me like $2 for new bolts.

P models shipped with buckhorn bars instead of drag bars. The risers were basically just taller versions of the upper sections of the drag bar pull back risers...

You can use ANY Harley, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha or aftermarket 1 inch handlebar. Both of my bikes happen to use Harley Davidson FL touring bars...

...that's Sam, the 2003 small cop bike. Stock base risers, 2" extension risers in the stock bases, FL touring bar with all stock controls.

... Pokey, the 98 vintage touring bike with FL touring bar in the stock P model riser assemblies.

... Pokey with the FL bars in a set of AEE style 6" rise aluminum dogbones. Knucklehead-Panhead-Vincent clutch/brake perch and lever sets. It does have a drum front end after all...

And just for the "Holy S***" factor... Pokey with the bars I liked best, 15 inch rise apehangers...

Make it yours. Have fun with it. You'll change it up several times during your ownership.

I just took the bottom clamp that the bolts fit down in into the store and checked what fit, then got on long enough. same concept as using the sockets as risers. right now I have some Biltwell Frisco bars on it. there are lots of options for 1" bars.

CHANMAN,

I ordered some risers from spacerjim.com. They cost $30 shipped. I just emailed the owner of the site (Jim) and asked him to make me some spacers with a brushed finish, 1" diameter x 2 " long with 10mm hole. I got some longer bolts and bolted them on. The controls miss the tank by 1/2". The riser and clamp are 2 separate parts, you just replace the 4" bent riser bar with the new shorter bar. See before and after photos below:
