Strange rear wheel question (Read 124 times)

Posts: 1223 Spartanburg, SC Gender:	Strange rear wheel question 07/26/14 at 19:26:27 Is anybody else's rear wheel about 1/2" out of center toward the left relative to the rear fender? I have 1/2" more clearance between the tire and the fender on the right than the left. Normal? Something funny going on? All spacers seem to be normal and in the right place.

Fat spacer on the left. I just noticed it 'cause I had some belt squeak and was trying to true it up a little better to minmize the squeak. Everything looks like the pics and diagrams that I've seen show.

I didn't do anything to it. It is all completely stock back there except the tire itself.

The rim is centered relative to the brake drum. The wheel is adjusted straight...got the belt noise almost completely gone too. It rides great and handles fine. I was just wondering if this is the same on most other Savages.

Everything looks to be perfect. No loose motion in the pulley or wheel. All spokes are tight. Double checked the spacers and they are right.

I don't believe much of anything has ever been done to this bike other than routine stuff.

There is a slight offset to one side if you're looking at the frame. don't panic, if it rides right, it is right.
