that sounds pretty good to me, the KLR I mean, I already have a bike that you have to mount like a horse (the XS1100) and it weighs 600lb, the KLR would be a snap lol

the Cincinnati chili is BS, as a southerner I can assure you REAL CHILI DOES NOT INCLUDE NOODLES
Send your 'chili' cooks down to Texas and we'll educate those boys (likely they'll get strung up)

welcome wakosama, hope to see you on the ride  Smiley

And I will have a special gift ready for you when you arrive.  Ya'll can fight over who gets to keep it when the fun is over.   Grin

We give prizes away at these events now? Huh

You guys from Texas always have to go and do everything up "BIG"!

We are given little bits of ground beef up here and some crackers to thicken it up - you guys have pieces of steak in your chili!

Not so much a prize as a .. memento.   Something they may need when I am not around, but I won't need even if I am, and won't need after they leave.

So this is like a Savage rider get together in South TX?  Like Houston, or more San Antonio.  Since I just got one last week, I know nothing, so was wondering.  Sounds like fun.  Is there a secret handshake?

I am realizing I must have spent ALOT of time setting up my last bike, even though I don't remember it.  But this is my first cruiser. Maybe it's so different getting adjusted is strange.   I still keep stepping straight down for the pegs instead of forward.

This is a pleasant forum even with my abundant newbie questions.  Very helpful.  Nice.

No secret handshake needed.. unless there is a beer in it...  Wink

If you can make it, you are certainly welcome to join us.  Details are scattered through the messages.
If you have questions, you should certainly ask them!

It should be a good time and I am looking forward to meeting all these interesting fellows.  Also a good opportunity to learn more about your motorcycle!

Versy, are you keeping track of the counts and such?  As a ModSquad, can you modify the first posting with all the pertinent things?
Thanks!

Here is a picture from todays ride in the Hill Country.

If you have a facebook account, you can see all the pictures I post up from my rides.  They are public, so you don't need to be my "friend" to see them.

OK
I have done what I can do figure out who is going, who will be in the cabin, and those that get a Bed.  Please see the first post for the update.
PLEASE let me know if not correct!!

Also on the first post us a rather lengthy piece about the cabins, deposits, what is there, what is not, etc.
BIGGY!!  Bring your OWN LINEN if you have bunk bed.

I have spent many hours chewing over what roads to take, where to stop, etc, etc.

Here are the PROPOSED routes.  Ain't nothing written in stone, but this can give you an idea of what I am planning for those that chose to follow me around.  The reason for inbound/outbound splits is that Google maps only allows a certain number of drag points on a map.. and I tend to run out.  Roll Eyes

Saturday outbound: http://goo.gl/maps/2Uetn 112 miles
Saturday inbound: http://goo.gl/maps/qmKyV  134 miles
Sunday Three Sisters: http://goo.gl/maps/vwdkH  243 miles
Monday outbound: http://goo.gl/maps/VvZ3u 130 miles
Monday inbound: http://goo.gl/maps/I7Hlq 185 miles

Comments or concerns are welcome.  Cheesy

I would have to guess that for the half that aren't staying in the cabin or tents overnite, that we can meet at the HQ building in the mornings so you won't have to pay vehicle or entrance fees.

Those in the cabin ($12 a night) have entrance fees included, but you'll need to pay your own vehicle fee ($5) I don't think they charge less for m/c's.  I'll bring a cot and extra linens (just in case), a cooler and a coffee pot.  Anything else?

I don't cook, but I'm great at heating and/or burning things.   Grin

Now that's some good thinking, I haven't stayed more than overnight in so long i don't even remember what things might be a good idea to bring, let's have some sorta list of 'useful stuff we should bring' for thise of us that're rusty at this, and maybe a list of 'stuff we could share' we can all volunteer to supply

I don't exactly cook myself, i eat a lot of premade salad mix and meat   Grin

Being as there will be grill handy , I'll bring a grilling tool and a granny spoon  Wink.   I tend to drink water or Mt.dew i have no need of drinking glass but I'll bet a coffee cup would be good to have. Smiley.   If we were to put  some meat on the grill then a mess kit to eat the beans and slaw with might be good.  Cool

I'll bring a back-pack , cot , sleeping bag and tent.   The Savage might not seem so nimble on the way to and fro.   Roll Eyes
