Adjusting belt without Suzuki tool
12/19/14 at 20:14:03
I purchased a used 2009 S40 about 7 months ago. When I purchased it the factory tool set was missing. I'm hoping that you guys might have some advice on adjusting the belt tension without the tool included in that kit. Neither the manual or the Clymer book were any help on this front. I'd appreciate any advice!

Are you asking about the bolts and lock screws at the rear or how much to set the tension to? There's videos on youtube. There's a simple twist test to tell if it's set correctly. I'm a newbie too so I can't spek with too much authority..

Thanks, verslagen1. That was what I was looking for. Thought I had seen that video before but for whatever reason couldn't find it again. Lots of information to dig through here.

Thanks, TC, for clearing that up... I've been wondering about that. I thought it was for the tensioners.
