Tensioner: 0.66", 16.8mm after 12,000 miles. Pulled the side cover off today and measured with sae caliper. will use metric caliper tomorrow for confirmation.
The point is, would you gamble on one more summer of riding before installing a verslagy? This is a real quandary. The gasket apears in good condition, will probably re-use it.
Thanks for any comments.

you got 1.2mm before the recommended service limit of 18mm.
that's about 1200 miles.
22mm is the absolute limit with risk.

It's always a good day when you pull that cover off and the gasket stays intact.
You should be able to go another year of adult motorcycling without having to worry about it.
With the exhaust and clutch cover off, and an intact clutch cover gasket - you've done all the hard work already. Why
wouldn't
you want to take the next step and get it verslavied?

+1...
You could go a little further,... but why?...
Unless you need the bike for basic transport,... odds are the gasket won't be whole for second r&r... and that will cost you $25... plus all the work...
...but, if you need the ride, it's probably good for a few 1,000 miles...

I've got a 2nd bike, and a truck, so am not in need.
Looks like I got lucky on the gasket, came off real easy.
Versy, you still in business?
