Tool box cover latch

I have the cover with the lock on it and the black plate that holds the battery in that the cover mounts on but I don't know what the lock actually latches onto. I realize what turns in the lock itself to "hook" behind something but I am apparently missing what the lock is supposed to latch on. Can someone post close up pictures of the whole setup with the lid on and off so I can figure out what I am missing and need to replace/fabricate?

When you need to see how things fit together....go to an online parts supplier and look at the parts diagram.

You need part #18 in the following diagram.

The #15 screws go through this latch, and they also hold the battery in place by holding part #11 against the battery.
