Thanks. I'm having a lot of fun with it. I wanted to finish welding and painting the rear arm but had some family stuff to go to and it is getting cold this week! Angry
I'll be updating my website later tonight.

In your search for the speedometer cable block off cap....here is a copy of a previous post on the subject.

The solution is at ACE hardware.
There's a brass gas fitting that fits it perfectly.
So the size and threads are common.
Probably something for a 3/8 line.

I just took a left over fitting and shoved a plastic cap in it.
I use it for washing the bike w/out the tank prior to engine work.

ACE people are more helpful than anywhere else.
I'd walk in there when the parking lot is empty and ask if you can try a few on the bike.

Document what you get....and post it in Technical Section "Off Beat Measurements and Sizes".  This subject has come up about twice a year and no one has ever posted what actually fits.  I remember seeing one picture of it - and it looks like a brass acorn nut with a very rounded top.  It could be painted to cover the brass color.

Getting somewhere!!!! (The brake line is just pulled to the side. I'll be replacing it soon.) The rear arm is just mocked up. I still have a few welds to do.

Was it a brass pipe cap?

There's no problem that a full tank of gas and a sunny day can't fix!

Rolled it out into the driveway today. Felt good! The tires are FAT! Got the carb done and am working on fixing the rear trailing arm. It was bent in a little so I squared it up to the original arm and am currently making a few tweaks here and there. I'm within .25* of the other arm. Measured everything on the bike and it's looking very good. I'm learning so much and having a blast!

Looks great!    We're in the middle of a CS-1 custom build and it's coming along.  We just have to finish polishing a few pieces and decide whether to paint the engine black or touch it up with polished fins, or go totally polished.  We're hoping to have it done by end of summer.  Be sure to put more pics up!  I love the cafe conversions on these things.  Seems they were just made for it.

I was asked about my cable routing and for now I came up with this. I'll more than likely be replacing the cables later. Right now I want to get things functional and then make mods over next winter.
First off, I routed the throttle cable back around the carb and up the right side of the frame and behind the right fork tube. I checked for binding at both turn limits and it works fine. If you run the cable in front of the carb, you may want to shorten it. If you run it behind, you may want to lengthen it a bit. Wink
As for the clutch cable, I think a few inches shorter would clean up the appearance but I ran it from the left handlebar, behind the headlight and down the right side of the frame. I'll get it all zip tied up when I do the wiring. It will hang down in the front just a little but still works fine.
