Pilot Lights For Turn Signals

I consistently forget to cancel my turn signals after completing a turn. I know this is quite dangerous so I want to put pilot lights on the back side of my Fly Screen so I can live to ride another day.

I am considering LED Accent Lights from Joe Florida unless someone here has a better idea.

I use these:

They are mounted on the top of the riser bolts. Wired up inside the headlight.

Common.
If fact, coming from a small town, never used ANY blinkers, cause everyone knew where you were going!

Anyway, Did this on other MC's. The Savage was a bit different, as it needed a 'Rectifier'. (Their is a thread in Teck section, on many ways).

I used a little LED, (red), on my little 'dash' I made, (First Mod)
Have changed it. No photos of new mod, (she is sleeping now, their is this white stuff on the ground).

Anyway, here is a photo, that little, dot, is a BRIGHT, RED light.
Every time I turn on a blinker.
I can easily see it, so I remember to turn them off.

Without going into a lot of detail how did you wire the pilot light? I assume that the head light has to come apart for the wiring. How do you take the head light apart to get at the wiring? Since LED's use very little current, I'd just jack into the tank connector for your lights. Just use a multi meter to find which wire was on for each light.

Two screws on the headlight shell, and the front of the headlight comes off. The wiring to the turn signals joins the wiring harness in there using bullet connectors.

I think the beeper is a great idea, but that electrical setup is a little over my pay grade.

My S40 is a 2013 model and does have 2 pilot lights, both a left and right indicator. I have a multi meter hanging in the garage so I guess I am going to have to learn to use it. The only disadvantage I can think of for connecting under the tank is that I am more likely to have to take the tank off occasionally than to take the head light off.

I am ordered some LEDs and I am going to hook them up before I get in an accident because an automobile driver thinks I am turning left and they turn in front of me.

As to wiring, Below are two very good links
(With Photos and all !)
I just used a light rather than a buzzer.

It is, really simple. Just keep in mind,
12v, a + & -, attached to a device, gives that devise power.
(Of course, a 'Amber Fluid, or two', makes it even simpler!)

If you want to use, two lights, (one each side)
it is even Simpler.

but you never take off the wiring harness... don't put it on the tank side... put it on the frame side.

but inside the headlight would be the same.

Tap into that, run a skinny wire up and around stuff to an LED, then run the other side of the LED to ground. Either side on? Flashing LED..
