What year is it? Since you have a white spacer it means its not a 86 or 87.
I'd go back to 52.5 on the pilot and see what she does...

are you putting it back to stock or do you have other plans?

other than dyna muffles, i will be leaving it stock...going to use it as a re-learning bike as its kind of small for me.lol

I thought I read somewhere on here that it matters which side the float pin goes in on, it that a fact or did I miss-read something?
The float, floats in a bowl of water, no bubbles when fully submerged, so I think I can rule that out.
The needle & seat look fine the rubber is no worn, but I wonder about the 0-Ring. Do you know if there are alternative 0-rings that can be used instead, just for testing?
The PO lost the O-ring, spring & the washer that is behind the fuel mix screw, these are on order from the dealer. I didn’t know if this could cause these symptoms or not.
This weekend just for giggles & grins, I’m going to adjust the float level lower, just to see if this changes anything.  
The TEV & enrichment valve, are these the same thing? Forgive a silly question, my experience is with automotive carbs, so the terminology is different on these.
I’m still going to pick up the dyna muffles, can’t pass them up for $25, but ill hold off installing until I get the thing running normal in stock form.

Shake the float, sloshing equals leaking.

Also the idle screw is turned in all the way, and it barely gives it enough to idle..
Throttle response is good, puffs of black smoke when I crack the throttle open.
