So you can get custom made vented, floating front brake rotor for $75 ($55 rotor& $20 tool)? Which one? The 11 1/2" or 11.8"?

No...you aren't going to be that lucky. All those cheap prices are for parts that bolt on to Harley's.
The stock Savage rotor is 260mm (10.245"), and has only 4 bolts mounting the disc to the hub.
You would have to contact them to see what it would cost to have them make something for you.

I did contact them...
Quote:
We offer rotor blanks, 11-1/2, 11.8 5mm, 11.8 7mm, 13" and 16" for motorcycles only.
Their site says...
Sizes:
11-1/2” • 11.8”, 5mm • 11.8”, 7mm • 13” • 16"
all their discs show a hub pattern that looks like a harley.
and in another email they said...
Quote:
Our rotors come with center bore, bolt holes with your choice of vented or non-vented only.

How many miles should we get out of our front rotor?
I know, Iknow... riding style, weight etc will dictate...
But, what's a ballpark?
When I bought my bike in June of '14 it was an '08 with 2700 miles on it. Front brakes squealed like a stuck pig. I immediately put new pads on it with some brake grease and it was quiet (I sanded the rotor a little, too). about 2,000 miles later I had to take it all apart and clean everything up because the brake squeal came back so bad. I have 7k on her now and have just given up on having a bike that doesn't have a noisy drive belt and noisy brakes but it really takes a little enjoyment out of the ride.
Been thinkin' of just replacing the rotor or cleaning it up real good with emery cloth. Any suggestions? Is this the EBC youz guyz are talkin' 'bout?

That is some fancy link you provided...it blasts me clear out of the forum, and takes me to a nowhere land!
The EBC Organic pads are the pads that seem to work best on the stock rotor. Mine have never been noisy...no matter how hard I ride. They seem to be pretty easy on the rotor as well.

EBC makes a vented front brake rotor, just look for #MD3017ls. Several websites and eBay have them listed.
