05/08/15 at 10:23:42
2009 s40 2038 miles pampered by older women driver. i have only beat on it for 300 of those miles. so do i use the hit it with wrench an go by the twang sound or snug up what i think are loose ones or do the tighten one skip2 and go around and around? i will have the bike on a center jack.also is the back rim usually need more work, more often ?

Tap on the spokes and tighten any that sound dull. Unfortunately if the bike has been stored outside for a long time....the nipples are likely rusted onto the spokes and you may not be able to turn them. Don't try hard enough that you break them.....missing spokes are "much more worser" than loose ones. Mark the loose ones and then put some penetrating oil on them and let it soak a bit before you try and tighten them.
Try not to tighten too many of them adjacent to each other all at once...as you may pull the rim out of true.

I always start by spinning the wheel and watching for wobble, if you see any, you'll likely find loose spokes there
then start the 'tap test'
