According to the factory specs (I found online somewhere)
Power   = 31 HP @5400 RPM
Torque  = 50 Nm (57 ft. lbs.) @ 3400 RPM
60 MPH = 3940 RPM
(The last is the reason I went with a tall 140/90/15 Michelin. Which, according to the math, would reduce the RPMs @ 60 MPH to 3700.)

I've always heard/read somewhere around 25 hp/30 ft/lbs. 57 ft/lbs seems a little optimistic. Gotta link? I'd love to see a comparison on this thread from bone stock engine to a top fuel dragster!  Cheesy

I'm curious now...

According to wikipedia, it's 31 hp @ 5400, 37 lb/ft @ 3400 rpm. It must be true - I read it on the internet.  Grin

It's completely creditable. High compression over bored piston, hotter cam, ported and polished head, well jetted carb and a VERY optimistic dyno. Not all dynos are created equal, and some flat out lie...and so do their operators. The guy paid good money for a piece of paper...let him enjoy it. Decades of engine building and tuning have taught me one thing, most dyno sheets are useless. The one value they have is to determine the impacts of mods on your engine, but only as they relate to the delta on that dyno.

I would be interested in seeing the pre-mod run. If there isn't one, then that dyno run is useless.

Not the same spot that I original found, but close enough... Sorry I took so long to back up my "creditability" , but on this "Mother's Day" I would rather spend time with my bride than  "lurk" on the 'net.......

It's not Just you or this post. I can't count the times people have popped in,
got everyone trying to help them and Poof, gone.
Please pardon my cynicism.

Whatever the numbers are on the chart.....it is about as much as can be done to the engine.  The 97mm is the largest piston/cylinder that will work, the DR650 cam is more aggressive than the available Savage grinds, the carb, porting and Raask all help.  He has built an engine that is going to run very well and be much faster than the stock bike.  I am sure it could pull some taller gearing to help cut down the rpm on the highways.....I see in one photo he shows the Kawasaki front pulley.

If the 7,700 max rpm that is listed on the Dyno sheet is real......that would have scared me pretty good. Shocked

And yes, it would have been nice to put a stock bike on the DYNO the same day so a comparison could have been available.  I have never had anything put on a DYNO - but I have read that the numbers can vary greatly from one DYNO to another.

The numbers are entirely possible.
He did all the right stuff and got the result he wanted.

Not a true dyno, just something I found once.

I think I am not the only one who have done those changes. It is not secret that Savege is quite easy tune up and get +50% more power than stock.

The results are very good. Do you happen to have a pre-mod dyno run? What type of dyno was used? Can you share some details on your modifications? Who did the work? Are you running a custom header pipe?
