Rectifier/Solenoid Attachment?? (Read 52 times)

Everything that is electrical requires power and ground.
Either ground to a part of the chassis thats grounded, connected to battery negative or wired bak to battery neg.
Current flows through a load, a lamp, electromagnet, motor, and must have a way for current to flow, yes, ground is as important as power.

The reg grounds through its output. It has a pos and neg output. The internals are supposed to be isolated from its casing.

According to the clymer wiring diagram, the solenoid is fed pos and neg to engage the relay. The relay only switches pos and the motor grounds through the block. So, isolating it shouldn't be a problem.

If you're relocating them, make sure the reg/rec can get some cooling air to it.
