I got a little more work done.  I wanted to take care of the holes in the rear fender.

I didn't want to fill them so I decided to cover them.  This bike is my wife's and her name is Theresa so I figured it would be appropriate to design a wicked T to cover the holes.  So here it is.

Here are the offending holes.

Here are the parts.  It consists of off the shelf grommets.  Custom made aluminum spacers, stainless button head screws, nuts, washers, and a custom made T.  The T is made from 0.080" aluminum and then was formed to fit the curve of the fender.  This shot still has the protective film on the aluminum sheet.

Here it is installed.

Blue,

Is there any chance you could trace the cross and scan it into a Word Document and post it for some of us less creative people to copy?

That is asking a lot and I understand if you don't want to do it.

OK hopefully I can do one better.  I created it in CAD so I have created a PDF of the file with centers for the holes and a 3 inch reference line.  It is scaled to full scale so if you print the file at full size you should have a full size pattern to work from.  You can confirm by measuring the 3 inch line.

any other questions let me know.

I think reply #10 has most of the info you should need.  But if you still have questions let me know.

I am not sure how to answer your question.  In reply #10 I stated...

The back wheel  will be a 16" off an '83 GS550 but the one I bought has a frozen bearing so in the short term I am using the one off an '83 GR650 that I have parked in my garage.   They are essentially the same although the suzuki PN is different.  From what I can determine it is only their source of supply that was different.    There are a couple of 16" rear mags that are straight bolt ups that you can use the stock brake up and drive hub.

The front will be a 19" mag off a similar GS model.  There are several models you can choose from and there are some good prior build links to reference on the forum for that mod.

If you are asking what brand a 1983 GS550 and a 1983 GR650 are... they are Suzuki models.

If you are asking what that style of rim is called.... they are known as Mag rims.  Whereas the stock rims are called Spoked rims.

If you are asking something different please let me know and we can figure out what info you are looking for.

I am way behind in getting photos out here but here is the final bike fully assembled in Stryker Purple.  The color is interesting.  It is almost black in the shade and then it pops in a bright purple when the sun hits it.
