Did a little research on nitrided pins. These next two links don't concerm mc chains but are very general with info on the nitriding hardening process. "Standard" steel has a hardness of 35-40 on the Rockwell "C" scale. The nitrided pins are 64-74. They should be much harder and last a lot longer.

I can imagine. Hope this gets done fairly soon, id like to have it to install before the end of riding season this year

So far I don't hear any scary noises but as I creep up on the mileage where I need to do something, it would be nice to have a hardened chain waiting in the wings.
