SOP for both parties.  Another way for the "party bosses" to control the election is to limit the number of ballots available and the number of polling places.

old.indian,

and that begs the question:

"Does our vote count?" Or is it all entertainment smoke and mirrors B.S. to propagate the lie that we have freedom of choice? or freedom at all, for that matter?

Immigration agents have complained for several years that Mr. Obama has tied their hands, forcing them to release illegal immigrants who should have been easy deportation cases.

I'm not going hunting and dragging articles in, but I Have seen reports of illegals who were arrested for a crime, released, then they commit a murder.
Now, you can read this and pretend that I have a problem with Mexicans, or, you can read it for what it is.
The people coming here, WHY are they coming?
Are business owners closing up and hiking across the desert?
The average working stiff, owning or renting a house, quitting the job, selling the car and furniture, and hiking across the desert?
Or, is it the folks who just can't find a job, folks who Would work?
Yeah, that is part of it.
What about losers, who wouldn't keep a job if they were overpaid and underworked? Don't tell me people like that don't exist. I know one.
How about the guy with some warrants out , and the law hunting him?

We aren't exactly Getting the cream, here. We aren't getting a full cross section of Mexican society. We are getting some of the good people and a bunch of the lower end of the spectrum people. It's Really that simple.
And then you top it off by just handing out drivers license and voter registration, food stamps, medical,

You THINK the rules and regulations for everything You do, like opening a bank account, are the same for everyone. When they go to get medical care, they go to the Emergency Room, and who pays the bills?
Everyone who has insurance gets billed at a higher rate.
It's just that simple.
A retailer does inventory. Knows what he bought to stock shelves. Knows what he sold. Sees there is less product left to sell than will pay the bills unless he raises prices to cover the losses.
It's just that simple.

Being blind to the obvious realities of life because
Seeing the truth has been deemed racist is a form of gutlessness.
It's just that simple.

Carrier just closed a plant in the US where the average wage $20.00 an hour and opening one in Mexico where the average wage will be $19.00 a DAY.  Of course the retail price for the same product now made in Mexico will remain the same...     Thank you Bill Clinton and NAFTA.

As JoG has illustrated, who benefited?
Campaign contributors or "The American people"?

With respect Serowbot, I feel you should have posted your vote. I know little of American politics, but votes do count, and I feel that cynicism is one major factor counting against modern democracy. At the risk of displaying my ignorance, again, if Tronald Dump were elected president, would he not be hamstrung in some of his more extreme policies by the Congress or Senate? Or for that matter Clillary Hinton. Mr Obama seems to have had difficulties passing thins through Congress.

JC, obama has pretty much gotten everything he wanted passed either through Congress , executive order, or through un-elected bureaucrats.

It's worth noting there is a distinct difference between "getting the things he wanted, passed" and "getting the things he promised, passed".

One downfall is that there is no accountability. If he promises everyone a pony, and then doesn't deliver, it's a shrug and an "oh well".

As I noted before, this happened in New Mexico in 2008 when the Democrat party "bosses" supported Hillary and the areas where Obama had support were lacking in ballots and voting places.     Embarrassed
