------------------------------------
I went for a ride Saturday .
-------------------------
Gus , is the big ride in SD worth making the trip ?
Sounded like a nice ride Saturday MMRanch. Last time I was in Sturgis during a Rally was in 1986. I've been to the Black Hills many times over the years. The Black Hills has much to offer a vacationer . . . especially on a bike. Lotsa twisties, tunnels and what have you. To go to Sturgis during a rally you gotta like people cause there's lots of them show up.
Really it is what you make of it. Some really nice riding and sight seeing that can be done any time of year. Cepting winter months of course

So Gus ...
If we came to SD some time , you think you might point us in the right direction ?
That would be a hole new thread in its self . But maybe next year ???
I know some of the fellers here aren't that far away and some of us that are far really like to ride.

So Dave you trading the ST1100 in ?
I have the ST1100 for sale on Craigslist.....a fellow is coming over to look at it tonight. It is a great bike, and a really good buy for the $ 3,600 I am asking for it. The darn thing is just a bit too big and heavy for me.
The NT700 is in Blountville, TN. It is a 2010 and only has 2,400 miles on it....the current owner has 22 motorcycles and is looking to sell off a few!

Any of you'd be welcome on my little patch of sod. Bring a tent I got 5 acres here with a barn to park your bike in.
There are many many, good two lanes roads to ride. The Black Hills is about 350 miles SW of me. If I got time I could ride along or if not; point my finger in the right direction .
The loop around lakes Traverse, Big Stone & La Qi Parle must be close to 170 miles or so; nice afternoons ride with a few hole in the wall places with food.

Hey Dave, I hope that NT700 works out for you and momma. That Virago I ended up with awhile back may be getting traded for a Yamaha XT600 soon if everything works out. I'm kinda stoked about getting my hands on a big XT.

I had a rare weekend off, and made plans to hit a weekly "Cars and Coffee" on Saturday morning.
Let me know next time you are going.....and I will meet you there! (Not this weekend....I am going to pick up my new (used) Honda NT700V!)
We WILL require a ride report

I just rode the ST1100 over to a parking lot halfway between my home and where the potential buyer lives.....I don't mind riding the bike to show it to potential buyers....it is a good reason to go on a ride! They made a commitment to buy it next Monday.
I already miss it - the darn thing rode really nice, and was smooth as silk on the interstate at 75 mph.
The wife has made the plans for our trip to pick up the NT700. We are taking our dog Lily and going to London, KY on Friday night, then on Saturday we will go get the bike and then go to Cumberland Falls and hike with the dog and stay in the Dupont Lodge - then maybe a bit more hiking on Sunday and return home.

Just saw this. I'll be sure to give you a heads up. Saw a Savage bobber there Saturday that I remembered seeing on Craigslist. New owner was a great guy who should be popping up on here any day now.
