Go in six and a half minutes.
Fox went to court to prove that they can lie. .
Unless suppressing the obvious truth, changing things from true to a load of mealy mouthed crap, isn't lying, then, hey, all good, BayBee..

Jog, you're lying. You're not mistaken or misinformed, you're lying. I told you the reality of the events. Anyone reading it would understand what occured and you're certainly intelligent enough to read so by repeating the story after you've seen the facts moves your statements from the misinformed category to the flat-out lying category.

Fox News didn't "go to court", they were sued by two reporters who were doing a story on Monsanto that the editors felt was far to one sided. They told the reporters to find the other side of the story, they refused and were fired. The reporters sued on 4 counts, lost 3, won 1 which was later overturned on appeal. So they were 0 for 4.

I told you before, the transcripts of the case are no doubt public so simple go find me the defense's motion stating their legal assertion that purposely telling a falsehood is a first amendment right of a news organization.

This should be a relatively simple matter to clear up. Find that and I'll admit I'm wrong and you're right. Prove to me they went to court for the right to lie. If you do, I'll post "Fox News went to court to lie" in my signature line so it will be on every post I write.

I watched. Are they lying?  I don't know, do reporters ever lie? You seem to say they lie all the time so why should these two be any different?

However, my point stands. Fox News did not  "go to court to lie". They did not present a defense that lying is acceptable for a news organization.

When you repeat they did, you are lying.

Actually, the reporters were trying to get Fox to let them expose Monsanto and Fox demanded they change it, iow, Not tell the truth. Now, I don't know where you are from, but a half truth is a whole lie.
Real reporting, investigative reporting, IS rare. If they were lying, why did they fight so hard? You're in the food industry, right?

Yea, I'm in the food industry and the FDA is just like any other government bureaucracy run by unelected bureaucrats.  Some people there are great, some are worthless, just like any organization.

But I've also been involved in the sometimes ridiculous GMO debate. There are people out there that have the view Monsanto (as well as other companies, mostly drug mfgs) sit around and work on ways to kill people first, make a profit second. I swear, there are people who view them and Isis as one in the same. I'm in Nebraska today and will be at two well known national food companies. Are they perfect? No. They do what all companies do, they try to balance profit with safety. Could they be better? Hell yes.

Were these activists (sorry, reporters....) like that? Maybe. Seems like it given the report clips I saw. Just because they are pursuing a 'story' near and dear to your heart doesn't make them Jesus Christ. One of them had been fired before. And the interview I saw, some of their comments weren't believable. They sounded like Hilary.

But all that is secondary. The point of this is you said Fox sued for the right to lie. I said that is the lie. You've yet to put up a single fact that supports your statement. And of course you can't because they didn't.

I see a 9/11 type thread coming on here......  I challenge you on a specific point; you ignore and bring up an unrelated point; etc....

Believe what you want. Fox sued to show they could CONTROL the reporters reporting.. And what did they WANT? To squash TRUTH. That's lying. You're unable to see, fine.
