Quote:
•  There was  no electricity bills in Libya; electricity is free … for all its citizens.
• There was  no interest on loans, banks in Libya are state-owned and loans given to all its citizens at 0% interest by law.
• If a Libyan is unable to find employment after graduation, the state would  pay the average salary of the profession as if he or she is employed until employment is found.
• Should Libyans want to take up a farming career, they receive farm land, a house, equipment, seed and livestock to kick start their farms –this was all for free.
• Gaddafi carried out the world’s largest irrigation project, known as the Great Man-Made River project, to make water readily available throughout the desert country.
• A home was considered a human right in Libya. (In Qaddafi’s Green Book it states: “The house is a basic need of both the individual and the family, therefore it should not be owned by others.”)
• All newlyweds in Libya would receive 60,000 Dinar (US$ 50,000 ) by the government to buy their first apartment so to help start a family.
• A portion of Libyan oil sales is or was  credited directly to the bank accounts of all Libyan citizens.
• A mother who gives birth to a child would  receive US $5,000.
• When a Libyan buys a car, the government would  subsidizes 50% of the price.
• The price of petrol in Libya was  $0.14 per liter.
• For $ 0.15, a Libyan local could  purchase 40 loaves of bread.
• Education and medical treatments was all  free in Libya. Libya can boast one of the finest health care systems in the Arab and African World. All people have access to doctors, hospitals, clinics and medicines, completely free of charge.
• If Libyans cannot find the education or medical facilities they need in Libya, the government would fund  them to go abroad for it – not only free but they get US $2,300/month accommodation and car allowance.
• 25% of Libyans have a university degree. Before Gaddafi only 25% of Libyans were literate. Today the figure is 87%.
• Libya had  no external debt and its reserves amount to $150 billion – though much of this is now frozen globally.

He seems like such a nice guy. Why would his own people kill him?*

He did not want to sell oil in Dollars.  When he started trading oil for gold, that was the straw that broke the camels back.

Read the subscript, JoG. Maybe I made it too small?
I'll go edit it larger.

Yeah, guys, it's just shocking what a guy can find out IF he starts wondering just what is being Told to us. Can't connect the dots without First questioning the information. Now, will this information have Any impact on the Believers? How many times have we discovered that we are being lied to? Why not Question the narrative Before you take it in, hook line and sinker?

And how was it, Again, that Libya was on a List of countries that We would have to be militarily involved with , and the List is made Public not long after 9/11, by General Wesley Clarke, ???

Explain how that is possible? How many years Prior to actually getting involved are such decisions Made? And how is it that Libya was on a list Years Prior to the Reasons WHY we
Must take action
Even EXISTED?

And if anyone can see these things and Not suddenly feel sick for believing, well, I don't know how to help them.

Now, nobody needs to be Sherlock Holmes to understand that it is Not reasonable to believe that the REASON for military action comes Years AFTER the decision to get involved.

Excerpt

I knew why, because I had been through the Pentagon right after 9/11. About ten days after 9/11, I went through the Pentagon and I saw Secretary Rumsfeld and Deputy Secretary Wolfowitz. I went downstairs just to say hello to some of the people on the Joint Staff who used to work for me, and one of the generals called me in. He said, “Sir, you’ve got to come in and talk to me a second.” I said, “Well, you’re too busy.” He said, “No, no.” He says, “We’ve made the decision we’re going to war with Iraq.” This was on or about the 20th of September. I said, “We’re going to war with Iraq? Why?” He said, “I don’t know.” He said, “I guess they don’t know what else to do.” So I said, “Well, did they find some information connecting Saddam to al-Qaeda?” He said, “No, no.” He says, “There’s nothing new that way. They just made the decision to go to war with Iraq.” He said, “I guess it’s like we don’t know what to do about terrorists, but we’ve got a good military and we can take down governments.” And he said, “I guess if the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem has to look like a nail.”

So I came back to see him a few weeks later, and by that time we were bombing in Afghanistan. I said, “Are we still going to war with Iraq?” And he said, “Oh, it’s worse than that.” He reached over on his desk. He picked up a piece of paper. And he said, “I just got this down from upstairs” -- meaning the Secretary of Defense’s office -- “today.” And he said, “This is a memo that describes how we’re going to take out seven countries in five years, starting with Iraq, and then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and, finishing off, Iran.” I said, “Is it classified?” He said, “Yes, sir.” I said, “Well, don’t show it to me.” And I saw him a year or so ago, and I said, “You remember that?” He said, “Sir, I didn’t show you that memo! I didn’t show it to you!”

Is Clarke a liar? Crazy?
Now, will anyone else at least entertain the idea that Stephens was left hanging out to dry because he didn't want to go along with arming the enemy?

And WHY, if the Goal is to Benefit the People of Libya would you Bomb the irrigation system? We have the best, laser guided bombs and Can't Not Blow something like that up?
If you don't question these things, why not?

It would take a lot of study to really have an idea of what it was actually like to live in Libya, how well Qaddafi's system worked,  and how many liberties the people actually had. With that being said, he doesn't sound so evil, now does he?

Perhaps our government and the media have been deceiving us from time to time, and some of our "evil" enemies are not quite as dastardly as they are popularly portrayed. I bet it's been done by the lot of nations throughout history. Find something to wage war about and make everyone believe that the enemy is more evil than Satan himself just to keep the people patriotic and happy to fight. I'd say even individuals do it. Go have a dispute with somebody and see if you don't catch yourself thinking that the other guy is pure evil. See if the other guy doesn't act the same. Two people in a fight will smear each other so that you don't know who to believe. Am I right? When people get wise to this, we'll live in a better world, won't we?

We've SEEN the media paint the people of other nations as unworthy to exist, Dehumanizing them, in order to more easily be able to manufacture consent to destroy them.
I have watched some here, alleged lovers of those who they might not understand, but, because they are liberals and are so very Tolerant, yet able to support violence against those who support a candidate who They have labeled as vile, bigoted and spewers of hate speech... Such tolerance.. able to support the mentally ill who would invade the restroom with our wives and daughters, but happy to see someone assaulted for going out to hear their candidate. I wish I could say liberals would always get the Gold Medal for Mental Gymnastics, but the Bush supporters were every bit as wrong headed, maybe not as hypocritical, but zealots are zealots, partisans are partisans, truth withers in the face of the almighty Agenda, where the ends Justify the Means.

Why either side Likes the Ends they have gained is beyond me.
