That is a compelling argument. I do have to say over the years he has made a number of statements that support marxist ideals & the edited clip.
“We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.”
"If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen."
"The legacy of Jim Crow and slavery has not gone away. It is not an accident that African-Americans experience high crime rates, are poor, and have less wealth. It is a direct result of our racial history."
Not to mention bammy-care & NDAA
Best regards,
The fundamentally transforming America statement: To be honest, I don't know what the hell that's about, the only thing I'm guessing is that it's a reference to a glass ceiling shattering moment, since it's picking out a particular day, and he didn't say something like 5 days away from "a new beginning of fundamentally transforming" America. So I take it more as a note about being the FIRST Black President and not about some secret socialist agenda, but you've read into it what you want already. But it's been 8 years, so, tell me, what's fundamentally different?
The "If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build
that. Somebody else made that happen." statement: this is sloppy English, but the word "THAT" refers back to the previous sentence when he was talking about the infrastructure, not the word "business" The reason that makes sense: the initial clause "If YOU'VE GOT a business - " already acknowledges that YOU own the business, that the business IS yours, so it'd be directly contradictory to the sentence to think that the word "that" refers to the business. And that'd just be some really, really, really sloppy English, we're talking even beyond triple negatives and run-on sentence kinda crap.
Another take on it could be, if there's not infrastructure leading to your business, how are you going to do business? So you do owe a measure of your success to the roads and infrastructure built by PUBLIC dollars. Yes, some of those dollars were yours, but not all of them, so you do owe some debt to the PUBLIC for your success. Do you think all the roads should be private toll roads?
The "The legacy of Jim Crow and slavery has not gone away. It is not an accident that African-Americans experience high crime rates, are poor, and have less wealth. It is a direct result of our racial history." Statement: If you want to deny discrimination, well, you haven't walked in their shoes, but do what you want. The discrimination isn't as OVERT as it was but it's still there, it is MUCH better than it was before but it didn't just go away, but if you think things just change like a light switch, okay, but until 2010, the county I work in was democratic, JUST BECAUSE LINCOLN WAS REPUBLICAN. the democrats here were MUCH MUCH more like republicans in Pennsylvania, so things tend to linger, it's inertia and human nature.
Bammy-care is a Heritage foundation/conservative idea, almost down to the letter, great handout to insurance companies, but at least some non-discriminatory regulations are in it.
NDAA - you're going to have to be more specific, I remember there being some crap about this back when it happened but I forget exactly what the issue was. but in it's purest form (which I doubt has ever been passed) it's a United States federal law specifying the budget and expenditures of the United States Department of Defense. Do you not want the Department of Defense to have a budget???
