Posts: 1373 Virginia Gender:	Water in the speedo chain port? 08/05/16 at 10:32:49 I'm getting ready to pull the engine, and I think I got water in the speedo port. I'm going to have the head and clutch cover off anyway, and I'm going to change the oil. How do I deal with this. Dad doesn't seem very concerned. I know... Don't say it... I should have put tape on it.

Reply #1 - 08/05/16 at 11:27:06 Changing the oil should do it .oil floats on top which means the water should exit first,there might be some extra trapped by the clutch cover gasket.

Reply #2 - 08/05/16 at 12:13:43 the upper part of the speedo drive has an o-ring, so there maybe some water there. Spray with wd40 and hope it takes it out. otherwise, ride it for an hour and you won't have to worry about any water.
