That sounds like a good trip, you and MM agree upon some dates and pick a spot to gather together / camp.

I don't know if my house is on the route anybody needs to ride - but there is plenty of camping room (25 acres worth).

If you take the major interstate roads it is 6-1/2 hours from my house to Coolspring by the Mapquest schedule.  If I alter the route to the more scenic and less traveled highways - it becomes an 8 hour ride on the Mapquest schedule.  I would guess that on motorcycles that would likely be more in the 10-12 hour range with stops for fuel and other necessities.  Coolspring only operates the equipment on the 3rd weekend of the month....so it would have to be the July 15/16 weekend - which is also their big car and truck show.  I don't know if that makes it a more....or less desirable weekend to go look at the engines. We might want to postpone this adventure to a year we can go in a different month with less of a crowd.

Sunday - Tuesday ride to visit Oldfeller at Fayetteville NC and then going on Monday to an ancient Indian healing spring located at Healing Springs Road,  Blackville, South Carolina, 29817.   Arrival on Saturday or Sunday is good, Sunday afternoon arrival misses the Fayetteville tour stuff.

From here it is a short hop up to the Dragon, and to all the really neat surrounding roads we love to ride.    For East Coast beginners, this is one of the closest (and the BEST) Southeastern trip possible.   Some have argued the area is the BEST BIKING IN AMERICA and I might have to agree with them.

I had thought the discussion was to change this weekend to a second Kick Stand Lodge or a Blue Ridge Motorcycle Campground weekend.

They are both good places :   Is it OK if I invite a couple of my CMA buds to join us on this one ?   Only one of them has ever been to the area and none of them ever been to the KSL or the BRMC .

Will either of these places let us have cabins for one night only ?
