They are Biology Deniers and it seems that National Geographic has become a Biology Denier also. Science itself has left truth behind. But then in a culture where we deny a Transcendent truth, we can create whatever truth we want.

You will note that I rarely post out here because with differing Worldviews people observe reality and such from a different prospective. As a theist I believe in a supreme being that created everything and provided his creation with all it needs to survive and prosper within the confines of His creation and His purpose. Being the Creator He has the right to define everything including ethics and morals. IF this is true then I would hardly call what he does as being Supernatural. If this is true then science (which I love and am all for) itself is the study of His Natural world. While we may not yet understand it I doubt He considers what he does to be anything but normal. In Fact until about 1900 Webster defined Science as "the study of Gods natural word through observation and experimentation." Webster's definition of Science has changed dramatically over the last 100 years.

Anyway to the subject above, I think you are very right. If a Person has an Adam's apple, xy chromosomes and a thingy you can not believe they are a female. This is simply not being in touch with fact or reality. We can operate to change our look, take drugs to force the body to do what it naturally does not do but it does not change what we are. Stop taking the drugs and see what happens. My comment was about the fact that National Geo ran an article this month on Transgender giving it a legitimacy. This is a Science magazine that is suppose to deal with facts, which they are denying. Recently the Board for Children's health in America (I don't remember their name) published their opinion on the subject and said that Gender Identity Disorders have nothing to do with ones natural bodies that it is strictly a mental issue or disorder. So to deny that you are Male or female at birth is to deny Science and fact.

If I was a scientist that wanted to study the behavior of Female monkeys I would not go to the forest and interview the animals to see who identifies as females. I would look for the obvious.

The other question becomes, Why do we see a rise in such thinking that denies basic fact and ignores reality. I am not a woman but a man. I am not a human until I am set free from the womb. I identify as this and that.

IMO as a society we have turned to a totally naturalistic world view that denies there is a moral and ethical expectation for us individually and corporately as human beings. If that expectation is not given to us by a Transcendent authority then everything is just an opinion. If through naturalistic processes I come to the conclusion that it is immoral to kill, I can not prove that it is true because there is nothing to point to to say " there that is why" it is only my opinion and the guy next to me may have a totally different opinion. The results of this are your reality is not my reality. Or, I identify as something even though all the facts and science says , no your not.

So what will the future be for such confusion? Well the other day I was reading an article on Insetaphobes, those who are against parents and children getting married and having sex. And since there is no Transcendent lawgiver that says this is not right and you will be accountable for your actions then, why not?
