Ya know these guys are techies, with a hand feeling the pulse of the future direction.
The whole industry is based on math formulae, unraveling complexity.

I ain't chicken little, I'm more of a thonged duck man...
But I wouldn't be so quick to discount their actions.
Maybe debt is finite, destiny wants payment, and there never was a genie in the bottle.....

I'm not discounting their worries. I think there is reason to worry.

I'm discounting their ability to survive TEOTWAWKI by depending on the technology they are accustomed to just paying for.

IF the lights go out, the grid goes down, and the fuel they've stored to run their generators runs out, or the generators break down they better know how to cut up a deer, cook it over a fire they started without a butane lighter and charcoal starter, plant a crop, purify water etc.

Or maybe they plan on eating smartphones. Cheesy
