George Orwell’s dystopian novel 1984 has topped Amazon’s best seller list just three days after Kellyanne Conway used the phrase “alternative facts” in an interview on Sunday’s Meet the Press.

Really, 1984 is a book about big government (big brother) controlling language and thought and "truth" to fit its own agenda.  It is almost a textbook on a leftist utopia.  It is the world SJW's want.

Is this really a surprise?

The right-wing & neo-cons let trump in thinking they could mold him... lol  NOPE!

The alt-right LOVES this!

Meanwhile, the general public, the republicans and the democrats, the progressives and the conservatives have to listen to the BS that the likes of conway and company spew to the public.

America gets the president it deserves.  Seriously.... remember that.

He'll be gone pronto, but the movement, not....

If the left takes the fight to Trump, they will go off the cliff with him....

I think alternative facts is a stupid comment but 1984 is really a book on the left.  They are the thought police suggesting things like implicit bias, they are the ones that want to control speech with pc culture.  They are the ones of big government.

OK... so you're saying Big Brother is a liberal???  LOL

Not sure how much bigger government can get than to try and govern a woman's right to choose... but that's a phony "liberal" stance, I know...

Well, if we just talk about our new president, let's start with his wall.  He's proposing to put tariffs on mexican imports to pay for the $15-20 Billion dollar "need".  That's pretty big government.  What's worse is that you and I will wind up paying for that tariff anyway... In the meantime, he's endangering our relationship with mexico.

Another very Orwellian move - greenlighting the pipelines.  For the greater good of the country - screw the protestors and the people it could adversely affect.  Take away the power of the people....

Oh, and probably the greatest example of big brother trump is his constant barrage of tweets.  He just will not stop.  "I know what's best", "only I can fix things", "I'll build the best wall"....

And of course, "alternate facts"

As I understand it, alt-right is a term that a "new breed" of right-wingers is using.  They are aligned with white supremacists and neo-nazis.  They're the ones you've seen saying "hail trump" at their meetings and giving salutes that mimic the nazi salute.

Those on the right (again, as I understand it) are more traditional republicans.  They hold their convictions tightly and don't waiver on any  republican stances.  No matter what.  However, they're not racists.

Agreed, although it is important to note that many uninformed people will consider themselves alt right, not understanding this though

Ohh, the alt right,, you mean the people who are not interested in perpetual war to enrich the powerful. The people who want borders to BE borders. How many of you have even Bothered to read Cloward and Piven? Stay in the dark and scream.
What caused Trump to Be a viable candidate is what I have been talking about. Both sides have been telling us one thing, doing another.
The left have sat quietly while their guy did nothing but invade and kill. What happened? If a bub had been doing what Obama did the left would have been screaming. If a bub hadn't seen 3% growth they would have been going crazy. Watch this Oprah interviews Trump. Pay attention, he doesn't WANT the job. D.C.created a need for a businessman who needs America to be healthy in order for his business, his family, and We the People. So far it looks like he Wants to help America get ahead. Unlike every other president since JFK.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GZpMJeynBeg

GET Over yourselves. Trump has done more FOR YOU since the election than any President I can remember getting things done in four years. Everything, I mean EVERYTHING , they did had
Unintended Consequences, not unforeseen or unforeseeable consequences, and I saw many of them, but few listened.
Well, it's the left and right who still cry because Trump IS the president who created the flood of passion that propelled him into office.

While I agree with many of the alt rights positions, the racism stuff is a huge deal breaker

What racism?

I took this from a news article:
I despise political correctness with the fiery hatred of a thousand suns, but I believe there’s a difference between political incorrectness and bigotry, or political incorrectness and vulgarity. They’re not the same thing. It is politically incorrect to point out that black Americans commit a wildly disproportionate share of crime, or that Jews comprise an outsized percentage of successful media moguls, doctors, and lawyers. It is also politically incorrect to point out that cultural stereotypes are sometimes rooted in reality. It is racist, however, to tweet the word “n*****” at a black person, and it is anti-Semitic to tweet a meme of a stereotypical hook-nosed Jew controlling the world or greedily collecting shekels. There is a difference between the two.

What I feel is YES, much of the "stuff" Trump is doing was taboo.....

It was ridiculed by the dems, media, academia elitist.
PC'ness was/is,effectively, censorship, no dialogue allowed, and campuses where shut down, to open exchange of ideas.

America should be able to withstand free speech.....
However, well, Trump is now the flip side, and the left cries foul, and justifies hate.

When you don't ALLOW debate, exchange, input, and lose your pulpit, well, what did you think was going to happen?
They would extend to you, what you wouldn't, extend to them?

Go figger.

I just think Trump needs to use Vaseline, is all.......I mean, friction is friction  Grin
