I remember watching Sesame Street in the early 70's.

It had Spanish words and numbers on it all the time....

Oh no!  We've been assimilated!!!

Hey fellas - it's been 40+ years.... seriously, get over it.

We SHOULD be a multi-lingual nation - We border Mexico and Canada - these countries have native languages other than English!

There's no reason not to.

And as for our culture - I have yet to hear any other National Anthem played in professional US sports.  Cinco de Mayo is NOT a national holiday - nor is Boxing day or St. Patrick's Day.

It's sad - you're all so paranoid over nothing.

Now you make me feel sorry for you.
Understand  how you became, ‘indoctrinated’,  (as planed).

Instead of, ‘learning’,
‘Reality’, from  ‘Real’ things, experiences, events.

Wait,   This is  the USA, what would you, expect to hear  ??????
If one went to Canada, before a  Hockey game,  I  think, they would play/sing, ‘O Canada”.
If one went to a bull fight in  Mexico, think they would play/sing, “Himno Nacional Mexicano”

Cinco de Mayo is NOT a national holiday - nor is Boxing day or St. Patrick’s Day.

And the above statement   ????
WTF    ?????

You're not getting it I see...no surprise... smh.

We haven't changed our core culture - we're still America.  We are a United States.  We haven't changed our National Anthem, we haven't made other countries' holidays our National Holidays....

Get it?

Yeah, we're diverse - as we should be.

Get over it.

Yeah, we're diverse - as we should be.

WHO SAYS? What's up with all the Should? People are so concerned about race. Get over it. Diversity isn't a great and wonderful thing that needs sought out. It just Happens, naturally. People who find their way here Are OBVIOUSLY Not From Here. Diversity Happens. It's not a virtue, it's just a result of people wanting to come here. Get enough people who don't want to assimilate and suddenly diversity becomes division.
We Don't turn people away who will be a burden. When Ellis Island was the port of entry we were sifting through the immigrants and rejecting the rejects. Why is it wrong to exclude undesirable types? Or is it just wrong to call anyone undesirable? Do you want a kid with TB in school in your neighborhood? The fact is, life isn't fair. Subjecting OUR PEOPLE to violent and sick immigrants is just STUPID.

When 30% of the immigrants coming here from 1 country we aren't even getting diversity, just a culture shift

Yeah, that'd be really something if the total immigrant population was more than 13%.... so.....

no assimilation + multiple generation = culture shift
[/color]

Then why aren't we speaking Italian or Polish or German?  There are Little Italy's all over the country.  There are Chinatowns as well, Little Havanas, etc.

Yes, Spanish is the second most predominant language for the US - as it should be.  We've shared a border for about 180 years now...  In my 50+ years, I've seen ZERO culture shift.  I live in a huge city with large numbers of Hispanics - the culture of Chicago - and the US - remains the same.

because we had the melting pot when the Germans, Italians, and Poles came over, now we have multiculturalism and global citizens.  No one assimilates anymore, we have kids in NY going to school where they are taught in spanish

So?  When I was growing up, there were Greek schools, Jewish schools, Polish schools....  This is nothing new.

Seriously, get over it.

So was my little sister. I built her Romper Stompers. She had no idea about reality. The girl she raised I know nothing about. Her son clearly didn't get the guidance he needed. The revolvers tattooed on his body didn't save him from the knife that was plunged into his chest twice. She's so ate up with how things SHOULD be that How Things Are just didn't get treated with the respect due Reality.

Oh... right... because that's the way EVERYBODY turns out... I forgot.

You've got some deep-seated hate for others you have to deal with....  It's pretty obvious that if that's your take on "everyone else" then you've got a perspective problem.

Are you any different than you were at 5?  Yeah?  Then why do you think no one else is??
