An Apology to Australia
02/02/17 at 19:12:39
To our many friends Down Under:
Please accept my personal apology for our new President's audacious insult of the Australian Prime Minister. Many, many of "us Yanks" do not agree with many of his policies or methods. The USA and Australia have been fast friends, well, since the beginning, having come from a common ancestor. In fact, I owe my very existence to an Australian bushman, who mercilessly dispatched a Japanese sniper taking aim at my father in 1944 in the Philippines (Clark Field). I also had the pleasure of working with many Australian soldiers during my 23 years in the Army, and I would proudly stand with every one. Please don't allow the thoughtless act of one individual to tarnish a beautiful relationship. Thanks

Where exactly is this terrible insult you're talking about ? Australia has made it very clear that it won't let the folks in question into their country, ever. Which is certainly their prerogative. Trump just told the Australian PM that the US doesn't want them either. Which is his prerogative.
I listened to Mr. Turbull's statement about the phone call. He didn't sound to me like he was all that upset about it.
And as of right now it looks as though Trump is going to honor the arrangement vis the refugees despite the fact that it was brokered by the previous administration, and he (Trump) thinks it's "dumb."
Mountain out of a mole-hill courtesy of what passes for journalism nowadays.

I'll read what Trump says about it. The media lies.

Your opinions and disparaging remarks are futile. I would like to hear what an Aussie has to say.

Dan, would it be fair to say that was exactly what was displayed in this last election?
I mean, the deplorable felt otherwise from those media, academia, politicians, who didn't engage them in dialogue.....
Silencing them with PC doctrine, so, they spoke with their vote......
Is that fair?

What makes you think anyone in Australia KNOWS what was said and IF they knew Exactly what was said, what makes you think their response/interpretation would not be colored by THEIR own agenda?
I would like to know what was said, not someone's agenda driven interpretation. I'm well able to deal with the facts.
I'm tired of someone telling me what I should think.

So nice to know you are all smarter than the New York Times and US Senators, including John McCain.

You trust anything McCain says? He's not a Trump supporter. He's a creep.
If I had a transcript, then I'd know if Trump had done anything wrong. Expecting Trump to Want to do what Obama had agreed to? Why? I disagreed with about everything Obama wanted. If those people are so wonderful, why doesn't Australia bring them aboard? They are Right There, why not open the door? Isn't Australia JUST HEARTLESS? So many of you are just so filled with hate for a man who stepped away from a life of luxury and the freedom to do what he loves to Try to turn America away from certain d i saster. If Hillary had won we'd be talking war with Russia by now.

See? You just Let others tell you what you really want to believe, then you run around and act as IF you actually know something. As long as it shines a light on The EEEEVIL of Trump, you are jubilant. Well.. NOW WHAT?
