Trump has changed the landscape and the status quo, of the political areana, of that I am certain. I am at a lost, to explain it, not to assign anything more to it, as in good, or bad, success, or failure, for frankly I don't know, nor do I have anything comparable to judge it against..... Those who say they do, well, shouldn't Hillary be enjoying her reign with both branches of the legislature and a few new appointments to the Supreme Court 😹 Well, I guess they were wrong about the tiny finger cheeto, eh 🤥
I was thinking we need a third party, but after listening to a discussion re: a third party, I am not so sure.... We see how Bernie, who had my vote at the time ( not now ) who really stood a good chance to win, was denied it, through dubious and devious behavior by the democrat power structure.... Who showed their dishonesty and insincerity to a democracy, by assuring Hillary the nomination. Their crookedness cost them BIG time, as many in the party abandoned democrat candidates on the down tickets as well.
The Republican Party got stood on its ear. Not as good as lying and cheating at the DNC, with their willing media accomplices, all it could do was side with Hillary and try and beat back the threats Trump represented to them. However, as then, and as now, the voters didn't buy the status quo of dividing the spoils of the parties amongst themselves. They denied the RNC of their good housekeeping seal of approval and rallied around Trump. So in effect, at least in the Republican Party, the folks got what they wanted. It worked.
Now it is hard enough to get anything done with a two party system, add another viable party, and you add more hurdles to overcome.... And it today's environment where it's not what you are for, and try and promote it, no, it's more what you are against, and try and ruin it, or bring it down.
Again, I don't fancy this man Trump, he is so unorthodox that I am leery of him. However, what I draw from his success of being elected is that folks can, even in this stacked contest, still prevail, if enough folks ignore the propaganda and prognosticators of those who love the capitalization of dividing the populace..... And instead vote one party, us, those who work, play by the rules, care about others, and exhibit tolerance to everyone, even those with who we might disagree, for respect given, freely, is respect, earned 👍
