By the way, there's a bit more to this story than on the original link:

The Democratic candidate, Jon Ossoff, a 30-year-old documentary-film producer and former congressional aide, has drawn national attention and managed to raise an incredible $23.6 million, largely from donors outside of the district and state.

But in money raised, Ossoff has blown Handel out of the water — thanks in part to the Golden State.

Between March 29 and May 31, Ossoff reported receiving 7,218 donations from California, dwarfing the 808 donations he received from Georgia. In the nine Bay Area counties alone, he received 3,063 donations in the same time period. (Those are only a fraction of his total donations, as he doesn’t have to report donations from people who give less than $200 in total.)

Overall, he reported receiving $456,296.03 from California — and $220,532.10 from the Bay Area — versus just $228,474.44 from Georgia.

Not to mention a cool million from a national liberal website with no special ties to Georgia. The last special election that the Dems painted as a second election against Trump, Kansas, didn't turn out too well for them. Way more money spent on this one.

Yep - it's proving the point that the more money you have, the better you do in an election.

Sad - I always thought that it was how well you served your constituents... silly me.

You seem to want to limit WHO can support a candidate.
The question I have is
WHAT can be Do for those donors that would justify their donations?
Without immediately looking at corruption, let's explore another potential answer.
I can understand how people in California or Anywhere the democrats have been in charge would want to see the dems as powerless as possible. People who have any sense and some money Do Not want more of the insanity. The fewer dems in office, the safer we all are.

Doubt that?
Look at the states gaining population.
Look at the ones Losing population.

Sadly, they are not all bubs leaving the places dems have destroyed. They bring their toxic political and economic ideology. Fade to blue...

You assume wrong.  I want ALL corporate donations to stop - soros, koch, whomever.

Publicly funded campaigns - like the 1976 presidential election.

Yes, I doubt that.  It's not the party, it's the establishment.  (how's Kansas doing?)

Doubt that?

LOL - toxic... yeah, look at the GOPer budget and the healthcare bill, look at the rauner "success", look at the brownback "success".... It just so happens that six of the top ten best state economies are democratic led... conversely, in the bottom ten, six are republican led...

Sorry, the dems aren't the only problem.
