Had some great conversations this weekend with some of my more conservative friends.
Seems they are a bit frustrated that I brought up some embarrassing things about where we're at these days.
In particular, I pointed out that if you're a supporter of our president, you (and sadly- we all) must own some of these truths:
-The next presidential candidate will be able to talk about grabbing a woman's "pu$$y" and "moving on her like a b!tch" with no repercussions. LOL - I wonder if the dems decide to run Uncle Joe if he'd go off on a rant like that... Couldn't hurt him, right? It worked great for our president, right?
-You will be able to lie about "seeing Muslims dancing in NY" on 9/11. The media will not question you directly on it, and it will not become an issue at all.
-At all presidential rallies, it's going to be OK to incite violence. You can call out members of the audience and promise to pay the legal fees of the guy that beats up the protestor. You can tell your audience that you'd like to "punch that guy in the face" with no repercussions.
-No presidential candidates will ever have to turn their taxes over for scrutiny. Even if - oh.. I dunno.. you have known ties to foreign investors that are known oligarchs and you make millions off of real estate deals in sales that are way over market value. If your businesses have declared bankruptcy more than one time - that won't matter. Your tax returns will not be shared to the public because you don't want them to.
-All campaigns will now be able to attend meetings with foreign nationals to discuss our election process. At the same time, you can go on the campaign trail and ask that foreign nation to hack into our system and find out dirt on your opponent. Yes, you can do that right on TV - in front of everyone. That will be OK.
-All presidents will now be able to have their children and other family members work directly for them in the white house. They should be allowed into high level security meetings while at the same time, run businesses that - because of your last name and with such obvious ties to the president - profit directly from their positions within the US government.
-All presidents now no longer have to put their businesses in a blind trust. In fact, they can have their children run them and be in constant contact with them to discuss how that business is going. They can now have those children meet with foreign leaders and have them directly negotiate for rights to do business in said country - all with no repercussions.
-From here on out, vacations of our presidents will be unlimited and not debated. In prior years, presidents have been scrutinized for taking too many days of vacation, or spending too much time away from the white house (not counting diplomatic trips). That practice will now be halted.
If you're a candidate that is lucky enough to win the electoral vote, but still lose the popular vote, that will not matter. In fact, when you have press conferences in the Oval Office, you can pass out maps to all the reporters to assure them that you did indeed win the election. You can show them all the color (red or blue) on that map that represent all the areas that you won. That will be acceptable and not seen as insecurity.
-Upon becoming president, you will not stop holding rallies. Even though you won, you will be able to continue building your ego as much as you like.
-As president, you will declare an entire week as "Made in America Week" and bring to light the importance of buying products that are made in America. A truly great idea. However, the products you sell in your own company will not have to fall into that category. In fact, none of your family's businesses will have to. Your products can all be made outside the US and that will be OK.
-From here on out, the president will be able to keep his/her personal phone and use social media at any time they like. There will be no oversight of the president's messaging. It will be acceptable for the leader of the free world to call people names, post fake articles, make unfounded accusations and use made up words, with no regards to the office of president.
What's really sad... we're only 6 months in here folks, and there's a lot more I could bring up.
This is where we're at. This is what we've done.
Yeah, I get it - the vote was for "non-establishment". However, now we've got a guy who is clueless, thin-skinned, uninformed and - had he been anyone else, would have been removed from office already.
He's been through 2 press secretaries, one FBI director, 2 campaign managers, and countless more staff... (again, only 6 months..)
He's been on a golf course 40 times so far... Yeah, read that again... 40 TIMES I wonder... how is this suddenly OK with the right?
If we all fail to recognize what this presidency has done to the office of president - and much more, what it's done to the Country, then we deserve whatever comes next - and it will only get worse.
And yes - the dems are just as bad, but now, thanks to this president, they are in a much better position than they have been in quite a while (but from the bottom, all you can do is go up).
So - time to get off the "But hillary..." wagon and look at what's coming down the road at us head-on. The GOP is responsible for this moron. He "chose" their party and they accepted him. Time to rid themselves of the cancer they took in. If they don't - if WE don't, then it's just gonna spread and take everyone with it.
