We are going to have to do far more than take down Robert E. Lee’s statue.

We have to close the US Military Academy at West Point. Not only was Lee a West Point graduate, but in 1962 the U.S. Army named the West Point barracks after Robert E. Lee. Two New York congress persons want to change the name of the barracks, but we can’t be satisfied with half-way measures. The entire institution is tainted. And so is the U.S. Army. We have to close down the Army also.

We have to close Arlington National Cemetery and remove all the burials to another location, because Arlington National Cemetery was Robet E. Lee’s land.

And we are going to have to take down the Washington Monument, because George Washington let his granddaughter marry Robert E. Lee.
Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, has a racially insensitive name and is in need of a name change.

And this is just for starters.

How would anyone believe that After the statues are gone, the demands for eradicating reminders of a time NOBODY HERE SUFFERED THROUGH will be done?
You KNOW it won't end. The perpetually butthurt will find that Next soul crushing offense to be pissed off about and Here we go again..

Well, most of the statues in question are on public land AND were put up at the end of Reconstruction and during the Jim Crow era. They are not so much "memorials" as "reminders" of what almost was - and where (many) whites of that area hold their allegiance...

You tell me. When does the kkk fold? When do the nazis die out? When do we stop judging people by the color of their skin?

As recently as last week, some genius on here equated ghettos with African Americans.... how about that? I'll bet there aren't any ghettos in Tokyo or Beijing or Mexico City or Brazil... right?
