To think back to the energy, the positiveness, a real message of, hope and change, when Obama won his first term.

What happened?

This is the results, however, of whatever it was, that happened during his administration:

It was striking, in fact, to hear Perez open by talking about “the loss of over 900 seats in state legislatures, the movement from 60 Democrats in the Senate to 48, the loss of governors and secretaries of state and state attorneys general etc.” over the course of the Obama presidency

Obama had the wind in his sail, he had knocked off a major political opponent, and DC powerhouse, in beating Hillary.

A Black, unproven, junior senator, with nary any credit to his name.
Why was he seen as "hope and change"?

Change, change what?
The conservatives/republicans?
Those guys were, and still are, only a threat to themselves......

The left was running the narrative in DC, so what did folks think needed change?

I think its real simple.....

The end of identity politics

We heard so much about tolerance and diversity, only to see it not practiced by those preaching it.
To divide, to conquer, only to empower themselves.
It got old, and folks wanted change.

Obama offered that.
I bought it.

However, the party ran his administration, and took away his hope and change.
The results is a party that preaches, what it doesn't practice.

It is no different than the conservatives preaching morals, while texting from the bed of their mistress.....

I still believe 2018 will show a new movement of how we need to simplify goverment back to the middle class, of all races, sex, etc, who pull the cart, and expect honesty in return, and YES.....
Part of this equation will be a "progressiveness" social safety net.
Of which education, heathcare, etc, will need to be retooled to a working order.
We need to look hard at our economic structures too, policies favoring the already top rung folk, keeps too much power, and sway, over the whole political process, this is NOT equal representation of a free political system, etc.  
Look at the wealth in the medias, look at the narrative....
Divide and conquer the masses, so they can keep their way of life, free from that which the others must  toil, for some, mere scraps.....
