Deductions........
11/16/17 at 12:17:00

The house bill: For individuals, it axes a number of popular deductions, including the state and local tax deduction, medical expenses deduction and student loan deductions but would double the standard deduction and condense the seven tax brackets into four.

Question: Do businesses get to deduct ALL taxes, on their income?

If yes, then why are not folk allowed the same, after all, are we not in business for ourselves?

On a personal level, I come out ahead, because my standard (deduction)  is doubled. I have no state tax, never meet the threshold to claim medical, nor do I have student loans.
So it looks like about 2 grand for the wife and I.

Check the math since they are also recommending eliminating the personal exemptions.  The closest I came to the SALT is when I moved to NY state and still missed by a bit (mandatory IRA withdraw) & capital gains of stocks to help buy the new house.
As a vet, who then after active duty did 17 years in the reserves, am thankful that while giving more to big corporations and saying how much they appreciate our service, still screw us by taking a dollar of Social Security Retirement for every two dollars I get for my military retirement - gee I get to partially fund myself.  I live to serve, much like a turkey. Not to be too conceded, but is this directed at me?

If so, WTF are you talking about?

Trippah.....let me ask you this question:

Do you think having a woman in office, as president, might give us a unique opportunity, and chance, at solving some of the issues that have stymied our governmental policies at fixing things?

Note: I exclude Hillary, as she has a sack bigger than most of the guys up there already.

PS: I am not to keen on the idea of giving my "money" to help me, to a employer first.....
With the idea it will trickle down to me.

If a "tax" break/consideration is considered a good idea to simulate growth, then why not give it to me directly?

I will use the analogy of a collected tax, earmarked for a local cause, collected locally (in state) having to pass through Washington/DC first, before it returns back to its need.....

Tell me, does that ring of inefficiency, or just another opportunity for another hand, in the cookie jar?

Nice, here we go again.  Childish responses.

Seriously ray, how do you have the gall to post things like:
"Will we keep on fighting each other, deflecting, blaming, etc......the other person/party, or will we clean house?" and expect to be taken seriously?

You're the living embodiment of the conservative hypocrisy.

You ask ME how old I am and respond like this.... HA!

Pathetic, but not surprising.

Hey, you may want to chat with web - his tactic was to just post the word "liar" about 30 times... Grin

(and you conservatives think you're smart??... lol)

Own it.

Good reply/response for you.
Good enough for us.

You call out folk, we call out folk.

Acceptable for you/acceptable for us.

If I put a ribbon around it, would that help you to see its your own gift, we give you?

Oh, I own it.  but, just like a typical conservative, you fail to see the rest of the message I posted and use it completely without context.  (Hey, maybe I should find that quote where you wanted me to lick your privates and use that in all my responses to you, hmm?)

Yep, typical.  Thanks to guys like you we have "you didn't build that" and "what difference does it make" - two of the biggest, out of context quotes of all time.  And what's really sad is, most of your kind don't care to find out the rest of it - because it makes you feel good and fits your narrative.

No ray, I'm good.  I won't accept a gift back I gave in earnest. (what's that called again?)

Oh right!  Reneging.
(what did you think I meant?)
