awesome rewards

well, opened x-mas cards today, nice to see pics of little ones etc.  Also got my note from Social Security. I couldn't believe my luck, even with gasoline prices going down this past year, I got a 2% COLA (Cost Of Living Adjustment for the young'ns here).  Fortunately, before I burnt out any of my remaining brain cells on what to do with it all, I noticed my Medicare A& B Premium went up the exact same amount.  Intrigued that the government thinks that apparently as long as I can get to my doctors I am OKay, that food, clothing, shelter are apparently optional.
(At my age, clothing optional is criminal). Grin Grin Grin Grin

Santa Trump comes thru.  Standard deduction up to $24,000.  Lets see, last year standards deduction for seniors was $15,100 and personal exemptions for wife and I totaled  $8,100 summed to $23,200.  So I get to pay on $800. less income at my last years functional 10% rate =$80.00
WOW!  What to do with it all????

All great news.  Of course, the stock market has been climbing since the banking disaster of 09.  The inevitable correction will happen, hopefully not too severe.  Unemployment numbers are better but what percentage are good paying jobs (whatever that level is these days).  Nope, I've said for several years the next Republican Pres will un-leash a torrent (well trickle really)of good economic news.

Then the other shoe will drop.  Always has, always will.

JOG good to see your feeling so upbeat. Cheesy

Serow - I think I'll pass on that suggestion - don't want to look smarter than I really am.

I see improvements, but Americans are NOT as prosperous as in the sixties. Unemployment numbers are Bullshit, but the direction is good. Stocks are scary, but it's better than in the tank. Yeah, they have been trending up, but some of the bubble is excitement about Trump.
Hopefully that will temper the correction that must surely come.
Jobs may not be the high paying jobs of the past, but it's a step in the right direction.
The Tax cuts will hopefully just be the beginning. The trade deals need ripped up.

What percentage are good paying jobs, you ask?
You laugh at 80 bucks, but for some reason 15 bucks an hour is some magical wage that does away with the bottom rung?

A growth of 1, 2 percent will not support higher paying jobs, but 3 to 5 will.

We’ll have to wait and see how this works out.
Goes up, Trump wins, tanks, he looses.

Are we back to the It’s economy stupid, or not?

Seems like the talking points change daily  Grin
