Why do you need to attack people instead of addressing the article....

The bill would bar the release of lawmakers’ emails, texts and calendars. Meetings with special interest groups, disciplinary reports and discussions about how to frame laws could also be withheld.

“They secretly passed a law to exempt themselves from the law that everyone else in the state who is an elected official has to abide by,” said Michelle Earl-Hubbard, a Seattle media law attorney representing media outlets in a public records case in Thurston County Superior Court.

Please see post right above. Look into the story - the public won't let it stand. Further, read about what the bill really is. Although it's still shady - it wouldn't bar all communications.

You seem to wonder "why all the disagreements?" or "why all the negativity?". I'll tell you why - because instead of focusing on the article and what the public is doing - you go right to party politics (even though the bill was sponsored by a dem and a repub).

You call for "less combative atmosphere", yet you call me an idiot and post a story like this that you represent as a call out to dems. The fact is, this story is not just about the bill - it's about the public standing up against it. Calling for a veto.

Why not focus on that instead of party politics?

Kind of - yes. If someone reads the article and does a little digging on that same site, they would realize that - yes, it's a terrible bill - but the focus is on the people flooding the governor's office with phone calls and emails calling for a veto. Sending a message to the legislature. That's the crux - not this:
