As an FYI with the exception of the cemetary scene ALL the roads in this are near by and I've taken the "Old Thumper" on them.   Also tells you why I have tall gearing and "hard" Commander ll(s) on..

Consider yourself invited...   (I know a section of old Route 66 where we can dodge cow flops and their ill-tempered producers.  Fun Fun Fun... Cool )

Would any of you be interested in attending a mission with the Patriot Guard Riders while you are here?

I understand it is not eveyone's "cup of tea", but it is something that I do when I can bust loose from work.
I don't HAVE to attend the missions, I just do so when I can.

So, if you (or some of you) want to go, I would be honored to take you.
If not all of you want to go, the rest of you can go out and get lost on your own.  Tongue
If none of you want to go, then you chase me around the Hill Country!  Cheesy

https://sapgr.org/calendar/

Thinks about it.  We can discuss when you get here.
If you have questions.. ask!

I'm likely to take you up on that sometime if there is a Campground anywhere close to stay at .

  Patriot Guard Riders

Is that where ya escort Vets to their final station ?    I've done that only once before and it Honored me very much to be a participant , especially at the Grave site service part.

Wednesday a week ago I met a bunch of Riders at 02:30 in the rain 15 miles from home to escort a Bus load of WWII and Korea Vet to the airport for a flight to go see the veterians  wall in DC.   The "HONOR FLIGHT"  of middle TN.
Was Honored to do that too , and breakfast at Waffle-House wasn't to bad either ... Smiley

It quit raining after we got started .

Most of our missions are for deceased veterans and first responders. Flag line at the funeral home and/or church, escort to the grave site, flag line for the internment ceremony.

We also do flag lines for Homes for Our Troops (and similar organizations) for ground breaking and key presentation ceremonies.

And we do flag lines and escorts for Honor Flight!
Did a "Meet and Greet" for one of those last month, and a flag line for their return home is scheduled for tomorrow.
Those older vets are really great people.  The stories they tell.. just amazing.

I'm pretty sure Versy has reserved mini-cabin #1

Yep, it's cabin 1.
BTW, can't say when I'll be there, 10 hr drive + time for stops.
So, it'll be later than usual.
I'll pm you a life360 code shortly before I leave so we can watch the little dots move around on the phone.

So this Life360 code thingy.......is anyone technical enough to make a space on this forum where we can watch you guys travel and converge - then ride around?

It might also work for other group rides, and help stragglers to find out where to find the group.

Somebody want to start a "How To" Life 360 thread? Huh

Nope, participants will be pm'd a code to plug into your phone.
IF you share that with your wife, that's your problem.
So it's by invitation only.

Other than that, it's pretty simple, download the app, create the code and send it to your friends.

Versy is saying he prefers not to share the code as it may slow up his cell phone response (and  eat data plan minutes and other stuff up a lot) if there were say 50-100 people watching the trip all the time.

Plus, how many of this rowdy crew would be turning on the MPH alert nanny system just to see how often we goes a wee bit too fast (thus creating a public record of our uncivilized behavior).

He is doing what I would do, just pm the code to those involved.    They need some sort of motivation to attend the group trips if they want to experience the fun.
