This might explain things......
03/07/18 at 16:26:59

I recall we were told fables and stories as kids....
For a reason.
I remember one such story where a chicken was hungry for bread.
She asked for help to gather the wheat.
No one helped.
She asked for help to mill the wheat into flour.
No one helped.
She asked for help to gather wood, so she could bake her bread.
No one helped.
The baking bread got lots of folks attention.
She asked if anyone wanted a slice of bread?
Everyone said YES.....

She said since no one wanted to help, she would just eat the bread with her chicks.

Looks like they stopped telling such stories and fables in schools since I left....

I think (1) the money guys are upset that not enough millenials are giving them their hard earned money to try and make more, which will be a problem; and
(2)  by the time they pay off their student loans and taxes, there is nothing left anyway.  There is a whole generation of folks who will be rioting in the  streets in 35-40 years.  (wait till they see what the tax code does for them, really to them). Cheesy

I can't argue with your logic buddy.......

Yeah, I have about 25% of my wealth tied up in the ponzi scheme BS....

It would hurt to lose it, but what I would have left would be of more value, but still.....

I am not sure how we can get away from the whole Wall Street, and banking monopoly, as it is going global, and growing.....

Boeing being a perfect example.

As to the schools, education, it has never made sense to me why we capitalize on education......

It should be a no brainer, invest in the "children" now, then as adults,  we won't have to.

Yeah , reality is going to suck for a lot of people someday  Embarrassed

When I look at our society, I can’t help but see the wisdom about the story of Jacob and Esau.....
Who sold out the future for a moment of pleasure, arg.

I admit, I have succumbed to this fault myself.

For every article stating how little Millenials have saved for retirement there is one outlining how they are the largest generation to ever start saving in their 20's.

Quote:
But a new report shows just how far off track they might be. About 66% of people between the ages of 21 and 32 have absolutely nothing saved for retirement, according to the National Institute on Retirement Security. The report is based on Census data collected in 2014.

How many of this group have a house or are saving for one?
How many are college grads?
How many are paying ungodly amounts for Health insurance?

You don't have much choice of where to spend your money if you don't have any.

There's reasons people don't save or invest.
Some people have no sense.
Some people have no cents.

HAHA......

Ok Jog, as you know, or should, I don't do conspiracy theories as a whole, HOWEVER, I do believe that we have had a breach of sound teaching policies, yes, in schools, that teach our children about the basic fundamentals of budgeting, debt, and money management.

And YES...... I think it was GREATLY influenced through the lobbies who make great deal of self wealth, through the "credit" mentality of today.

The bible tells of debt, for a REASON, one that is based not in Jesus, raising the IQ, of liberals, from the dead  Wink

NO

But from keeping one free of being a SLAVE to debt, and having to live according to its demands placed upon you.....

However, capitalism is a strong drug, one that is HIGHLY promoted, overtly, by republicans, as in trickle down....

While democrats speak of its ills, while they accept cash, under the table.....

Isn’t this the mindset of instant gratification?

Theres some.  It will be up for continual debate, but I see articles all the time outlining good Millennial savings and bad ones.

Just pick the one you want and say that one is fact and the others are wrong.
