Given that, and the upcoming midterms, I don't see this president lasting his full term. And if by some miracle he does, the republican party will never fully recover.

I'd say once the republicans see the losses after the midterms, heat will be put on the president from both sides. We still haven't really made much of a dent in Syria. No Russians were hurt in any of our actions there, and Assad is still full capable of buying new supplies from Russia, and in fact, we helped deplete Assad's supplies so now he is in more need for Russian arms. So we actually helped Russia out.

That 20% in the middle, it seems.
They voted for Obama too, first term.

Notice the folks winning the last few elections have distanced themselves from the mainstream party leadership.
