As I understand it, many who got their children removed were not trying to get into USA illegally, but were refugees seeking asylum. That is not a crime in any way.

Regardless of the parents' actions, though, I find it horrendous to let the innocent children suffer for it. But Norway cannot shout too loud because we run a rather inhumane policy towards refugees ourselves that often make me ashamed.

A relevant question. The answer is zero. It is much more convenient to pay extra taxes and get an organized integration. That can also be read as not wanting to make a serious effort on my behalf, of course.

About 75% of refugees and those seeking asylum are granted a stay in Norway. Considering that there will always be a minority in search of a better life without an actual need for protection, that figure is probably decent.

However, our most right-wing party - which probably is almost as right wing as the Democrats in USA overall (not kidding) - is part of the government and they want the number of people coming to Norway for protection to be zero. Zilch. Instead, they want to help people in need where they are, because for the same amount of money you can then help 30 times more people.

That is an argument I can understand and agree with, but there are always those who simply cannot be helped where they are. Or who have escaped and cannot be returned safely. Hundreds of thousands of refugees are flooding Italy and Greece and Turkey in particular, and we cannot expect them to take the burden alone. Especially since their economy is much worse than our.

So back to the original question, I could add; do I want to? No. Nor do I want to house anybody else outside my immediate family, whether they are Norwegians or foreigners, no matter how much in need they are. I am willing to pay my share for them to get help, but I am not eager do actually do much. Not very noble

 Whenever someone is anti-immigration the "would you put them in your house" argument comes up as if that's part of actual immigration law somewhere.  Its like bringing up Nazis in discussions that have nothing to do with them.  I mean how do you argue in the favor of Nazis?  The same way you argue in favor of placing immigrants into private households.

It is interesting that we on the right are always being bullied that we are not tolerant. If we were just more tolerant the world would be a better place. Tolerance is knowing that these white supremacist have horrible views at the same time understanding that they are free human beings that have a right to their view. I think Trump has displayed Tolerance, while he does not agree with them they are humans entitled to their view. The problem is those on the left actually do not care about tolerance, they care only about their beliefs, and would deny people with different views the freedom to have them. That is not tolerance, that is tyranny.
