False Gods

We like to call ourselves sophisticated. We trust in scientific theory and read the Wall Street Journal. We subscribe to the theory, se­cretly or not, that mankind has evolved intellectually and that we are far superior to our simple-minded, superstitious ancestors. We smirk when we read how they worshiped man-made gods.

Yet we’re on our knees worshiping more subtle, but just as tan­gible, false gods—the "isms" of our day: workaholism, as if the fruit of endless labors will finally bring satisfaction; legalism, as if being good and performing flawlessly will secure peace; intellectualism, as if we could get so smart that we would finally feel fulfilled; and materialism, as if some possession could bring us joy.

The first step in the worship of false gods is exchanging truth for lies. "You will not surely die," was the serpent’s lie to Eve in the garden. Cling to the truth. Once it’s discarded, you’ll believe any­thing.

The truth of the Bible doesn’t change with our circumstances of life; rather, it defines and weeds out all falsehood. Remember Jesus’ words, "…the truth will set you free."

Seems judging others, then justifying our own actions, has caused folks to miss so much about why humans are different.

Different that what?...

 I don't know, there is a lot of information if one bothers to examine it that we live in the least violent and most productive time in human history.

 A human is less likely to die at the hands of another human now than at any other point in history.

 Not literally "hands" as in the symmetrically opposing articulate mechanisms attached to the wrist, but by intentional actions by all means.

Well we again see others assigning something that they have no firsthand knowledge of.
Of course many shams have been ran under the banner of religion, not much difference than a political party.
However, I am my own church with God, as you assign value.
I am directed by him, with Jesus as example, and the spirit as my link  
I know you don’t understand it, that’s cool, it is crazy for sure...
But until you get into my head, heart, and soul, you have no idea, none...
It’s just not possible.
Judge all believers by those who corrupt the church, same as all the white extremists judging other races, by the acts of a few.

That is what is wrong with the world, people assigning to others their own bias and belief because they know they are right
