Jeff Johnson MN Gov candidate.
Here are just a few, of the things I agree with concerning his platform.
(their are many More)
. I know that, their will be NO, ‘Lefties’, that agree with, any, or part of any, of these things. Simply because, of the Party Johnson is running under, NOT any of the Ideas.
I will not be content to operate in this broken system.
(concerning MN)
Holding the same elective office for decades often results in out-dated ideas and policies that make sense in ‘the bubble” of St. Paul, but not in the real world or the real economy.
DISMANTLE THE MET COUNCIL
Minnesotans are very generous people and willing to pay taxes to help the less fortunate among us get on their feet. The problem is, many of the programs we fund don’t produce that result.
ELIMINATE AUTOMATIC TAX INCREASES
Democrats in Minnesota love to increase taxes, but would prefer to hide tax increases through automatic "inflators" that increase taxes every year without any legislative action.
STOP TAXING SENIORS' SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS
Minnesota is one of only four states in the nation that tax Social Security Benefits.
Education:
Nearly 50% of our state budget goes toward education. While the dollar totals increase annually, results do not.
We currently approach education from the standpoint of “funding the system” rather than “fixing the problem.”
END POLITICAL INDOCTRINATION IN THE CLASSROOM.
In recent years, there have been a number of reported instances of schools discriminating against students who challenge the left-wing ideology presented in some schools. Students should be free to express diverse political viewpoints, and opinions different from those presented by their teachers or curriculum.
Students should be assessed on the basis of reasoned answers and appropriate knowledge of the subjects and disciplines studied, not based on whether the students’ political, ideological, or religious beliefs align with the political bias of a particular teacher or administration.
Health care
driving costs down by Competition. MORE OPTIONS TO PAY FOR HEALTHCARE.
A single-payer system, which the DFL is proposing, will fail to contain cost for the same reason. It is time for a new approach that drives down costs and still takes care of our most vulnerable Minnesotans and those with pre-existing conditions.
Competition among health insurers is almost non-existent and competition is necessary to drive costs down. Employers who self-fund provide meaningful competition to the insurance industry.

Ben Franklin once said: "If you give up a freedom, for the sake of security, you will have neither".
Which is
More TRUE
