What a petty, petty, president...

Trump is truly not worthy of the office...

White House’s Flag Is No Longer at Half-Staff for John McCain
https://www.thedailybeast.com/white-houses-flag-is-no-longer-at-half-staff-fo...
"The flag at the White House was raised back to full-staff Monday morning, just hours after it had been briefly lowered to recognize the death of John McCain. The move breaks with a tradition that has normally seen sitting senators who die in office have flags lowered until burial—as well as the extraordinarily public disrespect shown by President Donald Trump toward his political enemy. The flag remains at half-staff at the Capitol following the Arizona Republican’s death Saturday. Trump has still not issued a proclamation on the death—previous proclamations called for flags to be flown at half-staff until the day of internment. Trump also reportedly vetoed a statement drafted by White House officials that praised McCain for his military service and labeled him a “hero.” McCain will lie in state in both the Arizona Capitol and the U.S. Capitol Rotunda on Wednesday and Friday, respectively, before his burial in Annapolis on Sunday."

To add to Sero's comment, this shows one of two things.

1) Our idiot president is really that petty
2) The administration is that inept to know the proper Flag guidelines.

Either way - I agree, this buffoon is not worthy of the office of president.

Looks like it's just our president being a tiny little thin-skinned man.

http://www.yahoo.com/gma/white-house-returns-flag-full-staff-less-48-14251598...

When ABC News chief White House correspondent Jonathan Karl asked the president for "any thoughts on the legacy of John McCain," Trump heard the question but ignored him several times during a Mexico trade announcement in front of reporters, according to Karl.

Such a "great leader"....  Ha!.  Not a POTUS, just a POS.

He is in good company with the likes of Assad, Erdogan, Putin and Kim; all arrogant, forceful and petty.

I must say I am a bit surprised that none of his devotees have commented about the treatment of McCain as well as McCain's decision to exclude Trump from participating in his funeral. To me, both issues speaks volumes about the president of the USA.

I'm not surprised people didn't jump in right away to defend this action.  I'm also not surprised that it's been ignored.

No matter what you think of the POTUS this is simply a violation of the US Flag Code.  The US President should not be directing staff to violate Flag Code plain and simple.

McCain's family could have flown a gigantic middle finger balloon with the words "F-U TRUMP! " right over Trump Tower and literally taken turns throwing their own feces at the White House, and still none of that would justify the POTUS decision to direct staff to violate the Flag Code no matter how hurt his feelings may have been.

The more I have looked into Trump as a businessman the more I have seen that it's not stellar professionalism and flexible management skills that have gotten him this far, which is fine.  At this point given his background and choices the past two years I'm not going to expect to see much in the realm of tact or respect for anyone that he isn't friends with.

Is it a tradition or a code? I found this:

"While the Code empowers the President of the United States to alter, modify, repeal or prescribe additional rules regarding the Flag, no federal agency has the authority to issue 'official' rulings legally binding on civilians or civilian groups. Consequently, different interpretations of various provisions of the Code may continue to be made. The Flag Code may be fairly tested: 'No disrespect should be shown to the Flag of the United States of America.' Therefore, actions not specifically included in the Code may be deemed acceptable as long as proper respect is shown."

So while I think most will say the action was a sign of disrespect, it may not be a violation of the flag code. However, this is a topic where I have zero knowledge.

Flag Code is not legally binding, so no there is no legal repercussions, or repercussions of any kind for any violations.  For instance I can hang half-burned upside down flags in my yard, but while legal it is a violation of Flag Code.

I didn't mean to imply the POTUS was directing staff to violate law, he is just being disrespectful as usual.

I don't even want to go over what all the enlisted personnel I work with are saying about this.

Then I would really like to know, why you said:
“…The US President should not be directing staff to violate Flag Code plain and simple…”
“… the POTUS decision to direct staff to violate the Flag Code …”

I have looked, and could not find, any, reference, anyplace.
that said the POTUS, ordered/directed  the person in charge of the Flag to put it back up.

Can you give the address of the places where you saw that a, ‘credible’ news source had proof of the POTUS,  ordering/directing the person in charge of the Flag to put it back up ?

Seriously mn?  Do you not understand what Eegore did and said?  He corrected himself.  In his second post he said he didn't mean to imply.

He corrected himself.

Why do you seem to need conflict?

Eegore,
I did not know that TT, was your ’Spokesperson’ .

I ask why you condemned someone, on total ‘hearsay’ not facts.

It is totally out of, caricature, for any of your past posts,
which you, seem, to extoll, reason, when others, state, unconfirmed rumors,
and mis interpret things, just to enforce a, ‘one sided view’.
And you wait, until all the information is in, before giving a opinion on the subject at hand.

This case in question, when you said:
“…The US President should not be directing staff to violate Flag Code plain and simple…”
“… the POTUS decision to direct staff to violate the Flag Code …”

Is not at all, characteristic, of any of your past posts.

Can you respond, why you posted/repeated a, ‘rumor’, which was not true when you posted it.
Which was not true when you retracted that posting.
Which, today, (I still can not find any evidence of), is not true ?

I did not know this either.  If you would like him to no longer provide his opinion about a post you could ask him to refrain however I am ok with any and all posts as long as they follow the posted guidelines.

I mean to say Flag Code is not law.  When I say "violate Flag Code" I do not mean to say "violate law"

I do not mean to say Trump directed staff to violate the Flag Code and that by doing so he is directing them to violate Flag Code as law.  There is no law being broken, but code is being broken.

The percentage of law broken is 0%.

"And you wait, until all the information is in, before giving a opinion on the subject at hand."

I don't always do that.  I do that when information can reliable be presented in a timely manner.  When it can not I use the information provided compiled with my personal thoughts into a personal opinion and post it.

It is rumor that the POTUS had directed staff to put the flag back up if the definition of rumor here is anything besides lets say video proof of the President himself giving the order.  It could have been anyone in proximity of personnel assigned such tasks.  If you are asking me to provide verifiable proof of words coming directly from the President's mouth then I can not do so.  I don't think anyone here can.

I was referencing the article posted in the first post.  I do not feel that President Trump was unaware that the flag was at half-mast then raised based off of protocols observed and recorded in the past.  This is a personal opinion as I can not reliably gain access to a recording of President Trump making any statements to provide as proof, or any other content that one could consider proof.

This is my personal opinion based on the limited facts provided at the time it was posted.  No reference material can be provided.
