 Since it says it only applies to that one school as it is not actually a policy then I assume it doesn't impact schools as plural but just this one school.

 The lowest failing grade percentage a student could get is 50%.

Stupid rule for the school.

A failure is a failure.  At 50%, there is no need for a score.

I'm on the teacher's side on this.

We need to let teachers teach.

The students who didn't even try deserve a zero.

But in a leftist world everyone should get a trophy for showing up even if they didn't.

She should have made amends, given the kids their fifties, and just stopped going to work.
Then, when they tried to fire her, she could have demanded to be paid fifty percent.

Wrong.  This isn't a leftist position.

Many of my fellow lefties are in agreement that the mindset of rewarding mediocrity is terrible.

This seems to be a generational problem.  Helicopter parents are not bound by party.
