Air fuel mixture screw.
12/27/18 at 15:24:45
Hi guys, first post ever so remove it if it’s in the wrong place.
I drilled out the brass button to adjust the air fuel mixture screw and from factory the screw was seated. Has anyone ever come across that?? So I screwed it out 1 1/2 turns and fitted a slip in can. Running better than it ever has. Still going to rejet the carb but here in New Zealand we can only buy single jets and not in packs of different sizes.

Is it possible that in the process of drilling out the plug that you spun the screw, making it appear seated?

I guess that is a possibility that the drill bit nicked that screw and seated it but when I screwed it out it’s the best it’s ever been. Before even on a hot day I would have to pull the choke out to its first stain to start and idle it to warm up, today went out and no choke it started fine.

Suzuki sets the fuel/air ratio rediculously LEAN from the factory to pass exhaust emissions tests of countries. In the US dealer mechanics will routinely tell you that the backfiring of this engine is “NORMAL”.

Not !
A little adjustment and a jet change and Like Magic no backfires and it runs good. How about that. 😉
