In Venezuela... lots of it.

The Trump administration slapped sanctions on Venezuela’s state-owned oil company on Monday

The largest the amount of proven oil reserves in the world, and oil revenues account for about 98 percent of the country's export earnings

Hey! I have an idea! Let's move in, destabilize their economy and then when war breaks out, we come to their rescue and "save" them! If some oil comes our way, well gee - that'd be great!!

Let's go!!!

But yeah, the conservatives are fine with all this I'm sure....

Um, old - I never said there was. Another thing I never said was that America should adopt a fully socialist government.

But cons on fox "news" start running scared when the likes of AOC talk about being democratic socialists.

I hate to break this to you old - but the US already has a whole bunch of democratic socialist programs. But since you hate them so much, maybe you should give up all your Medicare benefits, all driving on interstate highways, drill your own well and dig your own septic, generate all your own electricity, etc., etc.

As to your "sooner or later" - lol - yeah, tell that to Canada and the rest on the list. They'll laugh at you just like I am.

Well match, seems that trump feels the same way - he gave a trillion dollar tax break to the richest and passed the bills that that money would have paid for onto us - the middle class.

My experience is Americans are fine with the benefits of those programs but are not fine with the necessary changes needed to fund programs like that.

In most of the surveys I see they question only if one wants Medicare for all and does not include the significant tax increase and reduction in patient rights associated with giving 400 million people free care.

That might be true, but then again, they (as do I) also support things such as a strong military - (read - I like to see the result of my taxes).

Funny how so few questioned how to recoup the revenue from the trillion dollar tax break that this administration handed out last year...

IMHO, our focus should be on the taxes of "the good old days". You know, when marginal rates were in the high 70's. That's something that should be polled on heavily, and I have a feeling the public would embrace it.

AOC, Bernie and the like have laid out perfectly how to accomplish Medicare for all. In its most simple form it would be increasing the burden on the top 10% and yes, raising taxes - but if you cut out the cost of medical expenses to the average person, you're actually saving a majority of Americans a ton of money.

But again, those methods are taboo. Why? I dunno - maybe because we're building an oligarchy in this country?

Perhaps not - but in this case, all the things I mentioned would be beneficial to all Americans. Healthcare, living wages, clean energy and representatives who serve their constituents are at their core, good ideas.
